I have no problem playing computer games but when you give a kid a game to lose weight! Fricken fatasses join the army and then you will lose some weight.......and if thats to drastic for you go for a dam run.

What exactly is wrong with this plan? Probably doesn't cost any more than weight machines, it's good exercise, and we all know fat kids love video games.
We played DDR in weight training sophomore year. :)

Well thats a stupid reason not to implement a more effective and cost efficient weight loss program in a area that is in desperate need of it..

That never works, fat kids eat most of their fat kid food outside of school. I say let them eat whatever the hell they want, then let them work it off later.
Plus, many schools rely on vending machine and cafeteria profits. If they dont serve good tasting food, kids wont buy it, simple as that.

I'd rather be fat than play DDR.
I'm dead serious.

So they schools that rely on vending machines to supply fat kids with fatty food and in turn that money goes to DDR exercise classes?
How about we take all the machines out and only serve real food and cut back on DDR and put that money into something like a REAL exercise program. Like maybe running, swiming or you could even play dogeball; i mean you do run around a lot in that game.

Better concept:
Get rid of the vending machines, replace DDR machines with "football and field." Then you take that money you saved and get the kids better at math and reading instead of Sex Ed, Multicultural Studies, etc. You kill about sixteen birds with one stone.

football....dogeball it was all the same to me...
But whats wrong with Sex ed? we need more STD's in this world?
No Multictural studies? So we should just forget about the anti cutrual things that we have done in the past (and curently doing) and not learn from them?
I think the only thing i agree with is football and feild..

In one of Michael Savage's books he cites cases of "Sex Ed Games" where students at about 5th grades were encouraged to play a game with cucumbers and condoms. I'm all for teaching about STDs-- It's just that people are going way tooo far with some of the stuff they are teaching, and expending considerable amounts of funding on it.
I'm also not really a fan of forced multiculturalism. Like, if you look through the English curriculuums in place now, you'll find a lot of work that has no real merit other than simply being written by a different culture. But whatever, let's stick to the OP. DDR sucks. Get thin with football.

Schools get a good amount of money just from exclusivity agreements from Coke or Pepsi each year, taking those vending machines away would be a bad thing.
Really, I don't think the health of children should be the school/state's responsibility in the first place. We go to school to learn, not to have a bueraucracy handle the responsibility that our parents can't

well then lets go straight to the source!
a number of tests for future parents. no breeding till you're deemed not a fucking mouth breathing waste of human DNA...
lets regulate who can and can't have kids, because the parents sure as fuck arn't gettin it done as it is....

I been in WV for buot 8 years now, this WV is the fattest state stuff doesn't seem completely true. All other states I travel too seem alot worse. I wonder if they based it on total number of fat people or a percentage.

lol no way, I'd have to many people assasinated... err "relocated"
and of course it'll never happen, because it goes against basic human rights or some shit.
people need to be free to live in poverty with 13 kids, people need to be free to live off my tax money....
look i know you can rise out of your surroundings and become something great and all that shit. but realistically people are a product of thier enviroment and social factors... most people that are born into poverty or bad surroundings stay in that sort of mode...

Dont get rid of the vending machines jeez! Us non fat kids love to eat that stuff too when we get munchies or something(not the bad kind), same thing with pop. I usually get diet or water and juice anyhow.
My private school got rid of all the vending machines and kids just started selling coca cola products out of their lockers, or they bought it from seniors. They got rid of it because all the public schools are.
Also, my school made up for the decreased funds by letting Cingular build a relay tower on the roof.

that doesn't work here.....fattest kid at my school was a freshman last year and tried for football. Wensdays we run around our practice field 3 times (less than a mile). He gave up on the first lap, refused to run when the coaches asked, and my lineman coach ran up from behind and tackled his ass.
Few weeks later because he didn't like the way we coached and all the kids making fun and shocking him with pens, he cryed to his mom outside....litterally.
ON the other hand.....I can so see a fat kid getting bribed to play a videogame at school and then ending up working out. First sweating half way through it, then few minutes later sweating again because he's actually losing some weight.

Here at work (a High School) the only Soda Vending machine is in the teachers lounge. The students have a water/iced tea Vending machine.

i was on a lan-party with my two ddr-dance-pads and ive got asked by a teacher (she brought her son to the lan-party) if i could give her some more information where to get ddr-pads since she would like to add this to their physical education...
i think its a good addition to work out a bit.... since ddr is friggin exhausting above lvl 8 (the levels reach from 1-10)

Vending machines are what keep skinny dudes like me alive. If I don't have something to eat every half hour I'd waste away.
