See - the more its used the more likley it is to end up just like IE ;)

I use FF now mainly, but only because I like the session saver plugin and tabbed browsing.

I use it because I'm hip and cool. and I want popular kids to notice me....

but mostly because all that spam shit that floods IE never shows up on firefox.. so i can look for porn with ease... err i mean so i can research for my school project... :D

Leaked.

Does IE7 render PNG's correctly now?

It depends, but I'm not going to switch back, unless it offers features above and beyond firefox, there's no reason.

Is it as obtrusive as IE6 when it comes to secruity stuff(like the popup blocking and download alerts)?

Does it integrate with Windows security center, or MSN, or windows spyware scan thing, make them automaticaly turn on, or require them to run, or anythign like that?

Doesn't seem to have anything on Firefox feature-wise at all, to me it looks like almost carbon coppied from FF, especialy in the new interface.

Why wouldnt it be a carbon copy? It is what people want in a browser....

I don't remember what IE6 does, ie7 has optional popup blocking, not sure what you mean by download alerts.....

Opera FTW.

not sure what you mean by download alerts.....

Bad choice of wording, in IE, you have to have an individualy window for each download and no history or way of organizing multiple DL's. In firefox you have the downloads window, and you can cancel, restart, and look at past downloads from it.

Oh, no ie7 doesn't have that, though it isn't something I would miss.

Firefox does that too all you need is a plugin.

I guess I don't see the reaoning behind it, you use a browser, it does everything you want it to do, and doesn't have a bad history of vonerabilities.

But an browers that doen't do anything more than the one you use comes out, and does have a bad history behind it, and you switch to it?

In good time FireFox will be just as torn up as MS if not moreso ;) I like MS - and always have. If not for Microsoft Software I would not be able to make the money I do. FireFox is just the cool thing to do at the moment - a passing fad so people can bag on MS - which is probably why 90% of people use it. If not for Microsoft it could be argued you may not even be using the internet or a computer the way you are today :D

So now IE will have the features FF has - I only used FF for about a month. And besides I have never been affected by any of these "holes" that are all over IE. I update my system when it needs it and keep an eye on things.

I havent tried IE7 yet but its gonna have to be pretty fucking spiffy to get me off of FF. I don't really hate microsoft but I do love Linux and other open source software. I know that supporting FF directly helps these things.

It's not like using Microsoft products kills babies. I prefer to use open-source software as well (and linux once i get another HD), but Microsoft still produces some software that you can't find anywhere else. I have obvious reasons not to use IE now, so I use Opera. Opera isn't open source but I prefer it over FF.

Basically the whole thing is a matter of opinion, Firefox has security holes just like IE does (or did), and once enough people use it they will be exploited much much faster since hackers (that includes people who make viruses and all that) have free access to the source code. These same holes can be fixed as well for the same reasons.

Like I said, it really all comes down to personal preference.
