Hey everyone. Jaged and I played EVE for a very long time, and last night we were talking about how cool it would be for CCP to make a new game. Everything about EVE was right, except for the fact that it was one of the slowest paced games(character wise, not combat) in the world. So we came up with a new game concept idea that we thought you would all like to hear about. We are posting this on all the forums we go to in hopes that if we get enough signatures, we can convince CCP to at the very least. bring this into discussion at their meetings.

Since EVE was so great, especially since it was CCP's first and only game, we chose this company because it cared about its users and didnt make shitty rules just because 3 people complained about them. Here is our concept for the game.

This game would consist of FPS elements along with character building stats and certifications(for those of you who play planetside, it would sort of be like this). In other words, the FPS element would allow a level 1 to kill a level 20 if they were good enough, but obviously the level 20 has an extreme advantage equipment wise. This would of course be a space shooter, but also with the ability to do marine and foot tactics. Instead of planets, there would be space stations that could be captured by opposite factions, and can also be guild controlled. If one station was guild controlled, it could be sold or traded inbetween guilds, or players if they have enough money. This of course would have to cost an extreme amount of money. The foot combat would come in the actual capturing of the space stations, when many docking parties may have to physically bored the enemy space station and capture it by means of forcing their way to some sort of control console.

Now the space element would come in different sorts of classes. One would be aloud a certain amount of certification points, and with those points you may choose from a very wide variety of classes. Having this system would also allow you to change certifications every so often, so you are not restriced to a class on that character. Most MMOs today are using the system where when you create your character, you pick a class and that character is stuck with that class forever. Now with this system, once you get bored of a class, or something else is needed in the battlefield.

Here is one of the things that would make this game insanly good. NO ENEMY NPCS AT ALL!!! This game would be purely PvP. You would get XP for doing the thing you bought the game to do. To shoot the shit out of some big ass enemy cruiser. Your money would come from completing missions given by contacts, agents, whatever you want to call them, and by mining if that is your thing. They could have missions such as gathering, mining, and of course, PvP battle missions. Of course the economy needs to also have a balanced money system, where you dont get to much or to little money throughout the game(for those of you who played MxO, that game had the worst economy ever).

Fill in the rest of the blanks yourself. Im not going to go into the exact concept Jaged and I thought of, because some of them just suit our playing style, but of course, not all of that is going to happen.

Im assuming everyone is looking for a new MMO that is NOT cookie cutter. EVE was one of those, and now we want another. So come on CCP give us something new! This may sound like a lost cause idea, but if I ran a video game and someone came to me with 1000+ signatures, I would sure as hell listin to that idea.

Actually Freespace MMO would be great. You've got the Terrans & Vasudan, vs the NTO and the Shivans. Tons of great ships, lots of storyline, Freespace 2 ended very open ended, hell, the game's code is open source (I've read much of it) all they need to do is bring it back, spice it up, throw it into a persistant state universe and BANG you have an instant winner. (ok maybe not instant... it would take more than a little work, but it would rule!)

We dont expect it to work... but anything we can do have a small chance of pushing the industry away from its current pattern of making cookie cutter after cookie cutter must be done.

The moment a star trek MMO was conceived it was screwed up. Its too cool of a concept for any company to ever do it right.

I've been dreaming about concepts like that for years. If only....

I've always imagined it Freelancer with FPS and more customization.

Sounds orgasmic. What would be incredibly sweet is if Guilds could buy and control not only space stations, but cruisers, destroyers and dreadnoughts, which could carry the rest of the guild in their fighter bays. Imagine, if you will, logging on and appearing inside the masive dreadnought of a ship controlled by your guild. It's embroiled in a battle and enemy boarding parties have just docked, you grab a rifle and fight your way over to the fighter bay, hop in your fighter and take it to the enemy.

You see two massive ships duking it out with heavy beam cannons (a la Freespace 2) and you dodge laser and fighter fire and make a torpedo run on the enemy battlecruiser. Wow. I ask you, how freaking hardcore would that be?

Oh, and Freespace 2 was THE best space sim ever mande, hands down.

It's not in space, but Darkfall Online is very promising.

This could be solved by bringing Earth and Beyond Online back.

Earth and Beyond was alright, but it had no FPS component. We're talking realtime twitch combat with RPG elements.

If one company could make an MMO FPS that didn't suck It'd be CCP.

But It won't happen, they're too dedicated to EVE, you can tell their hearts and souls go into that game, and they probably couldn't bring themselves to work on anythign else.

Maybe they'd hire an entire new staff to work on it but I can't see that.

Imagine if EVE was an FPS, 23,000 players in one server, wow.
