If true - that would own. Tribes is the most fun I have EVER had in an online game bar none.

Yea but in several places they have hinted that they are working on a project. It won't be called tribes afterall.. so they could be working on a Tribes like game and just trying to hide it.

It's all PR spin I think. I've got my fingers crossed :p

Check out what one of the devs said:
Haha you can imagine my shock to waking up and finding this all over the internet. Damn you TribalWar. :)

All I can say is think "legal terms" babes.

T:V did suck indeed, but the one's before that were some of the best gaming I have ever had. I never even bothered to mess with T:V. Plus this isnt Vivendi anymore.. those ahats

Vivendi really is to blame for boning T:V unfortunately. I'm excited as hell to see what garagegames comes up with for the spirital successor to tribes.

Well if it were done by GG, it would be done by the original, they could probably get it right.

The first tribes was only "great" because everything around it sucked. It was one of a kind, but I've never understood it's cultish following.

Naw it was great because it was different.. and fun.

It's fast paced action really - there is nothing else out there like it. It's very hard to explain but once you get into it.. it's like crack  Back when it was still running CDL had some amazing matches - your adreneline would be pumping the ENTIRE 30 minutes of the match and you never quite knew how it was going to end.

Something one of a kind usually has a cult following, there will be a select group who really likes it. It is still unique gameplay, no other fps can really compare to the freedom of movement it provides.

Ah, good old Tribes. Good thing the first two games are freeware now.

The sad thing about Tribes:Vengeance is that System Shock 2 was a very worthy sequel by the same developers, so I would've expected that they knew how to handle the Tribes formula.

I wonder what they can do to Tribes to make it worth paying money over its free predecessors, which are awesome enough as is...Besides, they're also going to have to circumvent my PlanetSide addiction.

Tribes: Vengeance was a fine game, however for some reason the gameplay just didn't seem to flow very well.

Tribes 2 is my favourite of the series (got into internet gaming a little late for Tribes) :)

If they brought the original Tribes back to life, with a new engine, but all the classic stuff, I would be in heaven.

The first tribes are what brought me into playing online games. It holds a very special place in my gamer heart. Tribes 2 was great too. I remember one match the clan I was in (Ghost Bears) had a triple over time/sudden death against Kentucky Rouges. The map went 0 - 0 three times till on the fourth [KY] scored a point.

I was Med D/Back up HoF that night. That was one of the most intense games I've ever played in any game since.

I think Sentrosi and Dyganth was there too, we all were on Ghost Bears together before CDL.

My technology department head was telling me about how he used to play tribes when it was a mail order game, and then email, etc.. But ya, some of the best moments in my gaming life were starsiege and T2.

Tribes4Life.

Before Planetside it was just Tribes 2 for me. I would spend countless hours making maps and learning how to script and stuff. Houston Vehicles was my favorite server.

T:V wasn't a bad game. The fact that it had to stand up to its brother just killed it. Otherwise the gameplay wasn't too bad (I like the jump/jet combo rather than just the jet in T:V), graphics were pretty chill, and they had a not too bad storyline.

Can someone give me a link to Tribes 1 or 2. I have Tribes 2 but its scratched and i've only played Tribes 1 at my friends house.
