Not sure how many of you follow the space program but a few months ago Nasa annoucned it's new space vechicle. This is a short article about how it will work.

Well, it is a nice modular system that does have a variable range (link up in space with an uber fuel tank to get to Mars, for example), but IMO it does rely a lot on computers-- if an Apollo 13 happens, it will be harder to restabilize the situation if HAL 9000 goes bye-bye.
