Am I to assume that this players 435 Grief Points is a normal amount for a player holding a battle rank of 20?
"JoeMamma needs practice" (http://www.planetside-universe.com/media/viewer.php?img_id=306)

Can anyone speculate on how in the world one gets that many and still plays? Is it like one hundred points of a TK, or one point?

I find it hard to swallow if its only 1 to 10 points for TK'n. Cause this player would have had to kill 43 teammates, plus another 5 for what?; crashing a buggy?

a TK = (how many points)

It is, but sense he is in the test, and the grief is not on, just counting, he is not incuring the penaltys. Also grief ticks off pretty fast, so capping a few team mates is not gonna get you banned, you have to be a real ass to get this many.

Remember, 1 grief point=1 point of damage to a friendly.

Well... first off grief points are NOT permanent. Not sure if that is what you meant, but since you said "normal amount for a player holding the battel rank of 20", I am guessing you mean after all that time getting to BR20 he has 435 points accumulated. It has basically been said that all grief points will clear within 24 hours. Also, since 435 grief points equals 435 damage, that really means a few team kills, or just a bunch of stray bullets. I wouldn't really worry about it much.

Hell, that might be a good rocket or two into a vehicle, and that is it.

Also armor damage gives grief points too. Mabye thats only two team kills, or a vech. In anycase, thats probally before they towned down the system.

I get it now. Thank you.
He may have just blown up his tank or something.

What if you drive your buggy into the water. It blows and you recieve grief points?

You don't earn grief points for damaging yourself, or your possessions, nor your squadmates or squad vehicles.

they were probably screwing around, or maybe they were testing the grief system when they took that screen

I also heard SJ say the grief system was messed up a while back. If you crashed 2 fully loaded Galaxies into each other, you would get enough pionts to banned you right then. So this might even be an old screen shot of that.

For all we know it could be a very LOW number. We have no idea how much each hit on someone does since it no doubt varry's from weapon to weapon. We have no idea how much damage it takes to kill someone since it no doubt varry's from armor to armor.

Hell those 435 points could be one hit from a knife for all we know.

I wouldn't get too twisted up over it until we start getting hard data from the devs..

Yeah at this point he'd be banned if it wasn't a test

In that same comment he also said that back then crashing two galaxies together was about 40,000 grief points ;)

No he wouldn't, maybe a warning, but not anywhere near a ban. Like they said above, that could have been 2 or so mis-fired rockets.

Actually, the whole point of the grief comment about the two galaxies coliding with a full crew compliment and earning grief is they want to make it so THAT accident will not cause an immediate ban. As said before, you get 1 grief point, per point of damage (armor or health) done to someone outside of your squad. So, if the pilot wasn't squadded, you do the math how much grief would be accumulated from that. Roughly, it would be thousands of points.
