Protesting Military Funerals

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Members of an anti-gay Kansas church protested on Saturday in Lincoln at the memorial service for a local soldier killed in Iraq.

They shouted and held signs that said "America is doomed."

The 17 members of the Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka protested before the service for Army 1st Lt. Garrison Avery, who was killed Feb. 1.

The group has protested at the funerals of scores of military personnel killed in the war. They argue that American troops are being killed as vengeance from God because the United States harbors homosexuals.

Police kept the protesters across the street from the memorial service.

Avery was buried earlier at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. His parents live in Lincoln.

What the fuck is wrong with these people? Protesting the funerals of those who died for our country? Regardless of the reason as to why they died they still served this country and gave their lives for it.

These fuckers should be lined up and shot firing squad style. Hey afterall if they are on such good terms with "God" then they should have nothing to worry about.

that church from Kansas is infamous. Whatever the priests name is (i'll have to find it), is psycho. Him and all his followers came up to Plattsburgh last summer, in June to protest that fact that the mayor of Plattsburgh is gay. they also shunned all the churches up here for not doing anything about it.

This guy was also banned from Canada for burning the Canadian flag on Canadian Territory. We should get Infernus to build a gay army and attack their church with Dildo's and strawberry flavored lube..

As for protesting at a military funeral. No fucking respect. Sure protest on the streets, I wouldn't care. More reason for me to drop my cell phone and let the car autopilot for a bit. But to protest at a funeral and say "America is doomed," that is just plain out rude. No respect to the familys that are at that funeral.
