My friend has a problem with his Planetside, he should really post this himself but as he is round my house at the moment im going to do it for him. Anyway, the problem is:
Upon loading planetside, the sound still plays in the background but there is just a black screen, nothing else.
All i can tell you about my friends computer is he has
1024mb ram, Radeon 9800 128mb.
Thats all he knows, and he only knows the Ram and Gcard cause i installed em. Anyway, any suggestions
P.S
He has tried the Saitek fix (as the problem is the same just he has a black screen) and he has tried rollin back drivers, uninstalling drivers etc.

Did you try disabling the Video's?

Yes, i had him change the settings to skip the video and still nothing. It seems though he mis-informed me though. At first i thought he ment the Nvidea stuff comes up but not the opening. Turns out nothing comes up, just a black screen with sounds playing (thats for everything, not just the opening. Nvidia included)

So far i have been browsing around and it seems the overall problem seems to be with ATI and the latest Drivers. So i have recommended he uninstall and reinstall the 5.7 drivers (they seem to be recommended). Ill let you know how it goes

Fixed it, it seems every time we tried to uninstall the current Drivers they kept re-installing themself with no questions asked. Simply a case of go to where they were installed and do it the hard way and then install 5.7. Fixed it so my recommendation, is if you have a ATI card and are having trouble try installing 5.7 drivers

We now have another problem, we fixed the load up error and he could play but after 2 or 3 times of loading his character the screen started to throw up blue screen errors, these arnt you usual ones as they have no error code or anything else, just the screen goes blue. Any ideas on this one?
