We have started a new service here at PSU which we think our members will love! We have activated a semi-public TeamSpeak Server for use of our members! Why semi-public you say? Well it requires registration on our forums in order to use the service. Just head on over to this page and follow the instructions; It will then create a user account for you and all you need to do is pick a password. Once you go through the setup process instructions will be displayed on the screen. Similar rules apply on TeamSpeak as on our Forums, please do not abuse the service or your ability to use it will be restricted on multiple levels.
We have created a basic list of channels but users can create their very own unregistered channels if they so choose. We will monitor usage of certain channels and register them as needed. Any questions or comments regarding the system should be directed to the comments thread.
To get started click here we look forward to seeing you online!

Another rule should be added, no one under the age of 15 may join.

Well if anyone acts up they get the ban! And you need to be registered in order to use it anyway.

I still wanna say... try ventrilo if you hadnt tried it yet... I just like it alot more and I and my friends allways use it because of the much better speach quality (not as much hussing and buzzing as you have in ts2)
give the program a try if you want...

I'v tryed both, and I like Teamspeak better, I really don't notice any difference. I used Vent with some guys on PS for about 2 weeks, and it didn't sound ANY different that TS. It jsut matters on the person's mic for me.

Have tried Vent quite a lot and don't really hear any sound difference and the interface, though not purple, still looks and acts like a 5 year old programmed it. Public vent servers are also locked at 8 users. I know the inner workings of TS2 after using it for years as well as offering a popular status display script for it as mentioned in the client credits ;) People always have their opinions between Vent and TS2 as well as many other things which is quite their right, however we are choosing one and that is TS2.

I have much h8 for vent. Its interface is too clunky, very annoying. The voice makes me want to kill my self. As for sound quality... as long as the moron running the server isnt using Speex 3.5Kb Codec its just the same. It all comes down to the mic.

I've also used both - and I agree Vent is far to clunky to use.

Having used both TS and Vent... I can say that the TS interface is much easier to work with. Not that I have a problem with vent.
Now if I could just figure out why my teamspeak is being really gay I'd be set.

Setup your TS server to use mySQL for it's database, then just use a form that only forum members can access to manage the users.

Today I released this as a full vBulletin hack. When creating the hack I found a reason to modify user login names, so unfortunately I had to wipe all existing accounts.
Remember to feel free to invite your friends and feel free to request any dedicated channels for you and your friends.
