darn.. thats the only downside to this game so far. i want to be able to snipe a pilot and see the ship spin out of control with the vanu or conglomos screaming and ejecting

Many things limiting it. I'm only going to mention the lag issue. Don't debate it here. There's a big chance it could cause more lag and a plethora(hehe) of other issues.

lag my ass. they send packets to specify someones been hit. they send packets to specify someones been hit in certain regions. a whole few bytes of information even times several hundred thousand won't be a big deal for the powerful server they will have.

They don't want region specific damage cause it provokes hackers to develop aimbots, which severly alters gameplay, kindof a wierd reason, but I think I remember SJ saying that a while back.

You would be suprised how much lag can be created from so many people on a server, even as all powerful as they are. Besides, they also stated that with how fast paced the game is already, that headshots would be overkill.

Why don't we drop this headshot topic till we, you know, play the game? I bet once we are all in there we won't even notice.

As for hacking in PS:

Number who will try, proably about 400

Number who will succedd: proably about 30

Number who will then boast and get found out: 27

Number that will be bothersome: 3

of course small programs will come out, they will be aimbots and the such, and it will appear that sony does nothing, and it will be a problem for a few days as sony tracks all those who use said bots which are in violation of the no 3rd person softwere agreement they will have, and then those people get banned. All of them. No loss to anyone.
