Actually I think you'd be fine if you scraped a curb, except the chrome would flake off and that would look really bad. It looks like the "spoke" part of the rim is inset, and then the LEDs are inset even further, so you'd hit chrome before you hit the lights.

Yea for some reason when I look at those I think plastic.. like all those toys out there that have plastic chrome stuff on them that flakes off after a certain amount of time or play :lol:

Actually, from what I've seen, chrome acts pretty much the same way. If you had an edge where you could start peeling it, you could peel it all off.
