Next Halo Hits March 2007
Microsoft plans for wide-open spring 2007 launch.
by Douglass C. Perry

March 30, 2006 - The next Halo is coming in March 2007. According to a Microsoft source who asked to remain anonymous and a second source close to the company, IGN today learned that Microsoft will publish the next Halo game (as predicted in January) in March 2007.

When phoned, Microsoft declined to comment. While the holiday season remains the most important set of months to publish a game, the first calendar quarter of the year is proving to be bigger and more prominent in sales. Microsoft intends to innovate, challenge traditions, and to use its own "playbook" (as Microsoft's J Allard has said time and again), and slotting Halo 3 (or Halo Forerunners, or whatever April Fool's gag you choose) in March 2007 is likely to shift consumers' priorities. That anticipation will overlap with the first few months of Sony's and Nintendo's launches, cutting into their building stages, and shifting eyes toward and opening wallets for Xbox 360.

By theoretically shifting Halo to next spring, Microsoft thus allows third-party companies a better chance to shine independently of Bungie's uber shooter during the fall 2006 season. One must wonder, however, why the game wouldn't come out simultaneously with the movie, due in summer 2007. But if Halo 3's alleged March release date is officially confirmed, perhaps the game will leave questions for the movie to answer.

so fuck your rumors about it not coming.

Don't play it if you hate a game thats ending makes you want to burn a particular ethnic group when it ends.

For me to buy Halo 3 they'd have to make the weapons take more concentration when you shoot them.

I don't know what you guys are talking about. Halo2 is just awsome. The beginning is just amazing (or kind of repeditive if you remember the first level of the first Halo), the middle is pretty depressing (you wish it never happened, but you love it), and then the end is just back into the grove....until the last cinimatic scene.

I'd play it regardless if ending, it has one of the best cinematics i've seen in a game, ever.

My enjoyment of the cinematics was lessened due to the fact that the characters' normal maps often loaded after the cinematic started.

Nice Trailer, ass. :)

I was expecting a real one damnit, I even grabbed my headset as soon as I clicked the link. *Sigh*

Ima buy Halo 3 for the action, stories pretty good, and don't care much for the online play. I have EVE online and DOD:S for online fun. Halo is where I have the "chill with my best friend pwning some aliens" fun.
