Guess this belong in this forum.

Today I decided to pay for a months gameplay and finaly try and get CR5 with my character (I was CR4.9 when I left).

When I logged in I got two rewards, 1year and 2year veteran or something like that, and after that I just got depresed.

All I saw was small battles on 3-4 locations and I cant even comepare it to the "old" small battles.

I left the game awhile after the expensionpack came out and by then it had already started to slow down but it was still a great game.

My setup, thumper with plasma granades, sniper and mines was basicly useless.

During the battles I cant find anyone to stalk with my sniper due to that everyone is running around doing their own thing, my thumper still worked good but due to the lack of targets it was more or less usless, and the mines dident have the same effect anymore as now maybe two people tryed to get into a base, instead of the massive hordes that tryed before.

Makes me really sad that the game that I spend almost all my time in around 1 and a half year ago has gone this bad.

Now when I think about it I just get sad because I loved to fight the battles where it was like every army had a thousend troops, eather you attacked or you defended your base in massive numbers, and you really needed to have tactics.

Now its all gray and dead, 20 people max in a large battle compared to the huge numbers it was before.

I fought with the Vanu Corporation (or something along those lines) and it was my best gaming experiense ever, after UO that is.

Nothing was so fun as mining a bridge and see the kills rolling in, or sniping away at an army that seemed to have an endless amout of troops, or lobbing plasma granades from your thumper seeing people flee in terror as their flesh slowly burned away.

Well I guess thats about it, wish I could travel back in time and have the same amount of fun one more time.

Come on now, that's not true. I quit and came back too and the big battles are still ass battles.

What I miss is the pre lattice beta stuff when it was basically squad on squad stuff going on all over a continent.

And the ninja hacks!

hell yeah the ninja hacks. it was like playing glorified whack a mole when you were trying to defend a continent.

ninja hacks rocked.....ofcourse when they happen against you. :p

One thing i miss is everyone is basically in an outfit. There is no more really just coming into the sanc and watching the broadcasts fill with messanges asking for gal pilots or other people. Nowadays its just "hey outfit, where are we tonight" "Cyssor" "oh ok i feel like going to the caverns i'll see you in alittle while..."

Otherwise, everyone is isolated to just their outfits. Basically rank up in outfitpoints, get all pimp in your outfit and start giving commands which usually leads to disobeying the current 'continent CR5 leader' if you mind me calling it that.

Just ho hum.

I still play PS, its a chill game. But my 360 and soon xbl will soon grasp me away....very soon.

I feel so sad.I thought the reserves program would work.

The cool part about the ninja hacks was the small fights. The lattice just encourages zerging which is why I was against it from the beginning and ultimately why I quit the game so soon after launch. Who was that guy that came up with the lattice idea on the PS boards? He had a lot of great ideas for the game which ended up being implemented, but the lattice thing I just was not down with.

Either way, the game is still pretty damned fun.

I'm actually seeing a good number of new/reserves players, and I was playing late late night.

Playing at night and on weekends I have seen some good battles this last week.

Im thinking reserves has fairly succeeded.

You know, I love this game. And one thing I've learned after being active in forums, blogs, and threads for many different games, is that there will always be vets who complain that the "newer" is always worse than the "older" and that "it used to be so good." You know, if you look hard enough, you can find a reason to complain about anything.

And by the way, it's Vanu Sovereignty, not Vanu Corporation. I wonder how hardcore you were to begin with if you confuse these two. No offense meant but seriously, if you like the game then play. If you don't, then don't play - but don't complain because SOE won't change a game because of complaints (SWG is a prime example). Besides, a good battlefield tactician will change their tactics as the "game" changes. Do you think the old Korean War vets complain about how it used to be when they were sent into Iraq the first time? No. They changed their tactics and kicked some @$$, soldier. :D

I enjoy the game. Life's too short to complain about what we don't have.

Cheers,

Atra

There are certainly large battles. Today on Emerald there were two planets pop-locked on VS... Now I'm not sure how many planets PS could poplock in it's prime- but just seeing one is good enough for me... Play the game more before you hate, hater.

Yeah, on Werner a few planets are pop locked often too. You just have to catch em when people are on for Werner this is about 6-10pm GMT, cant comment about the others as im not on late enuf to play on em.

Still, if you play on werner and want someone who preferes Teamwork to just doing your own thing drop me a line here or in game at Feisar or Tiguron (Lol, im a big Wipeout fan too).

Still, i dont like how im armed with a big rocket launcher and then it does bugger all to a vehicle. All to often i find myself Maxin it up, which is borring
