Guess this belongs here rather than the lounge. About 6 months ago or so, I uploaded my music library to my ipod. I reformatted my computer several months later. Then, a few weeks ago, I attempted to add more songs to my ipod from my new library which did not include the old stuff already on the ipod. The notice stating that my ipod was linked to another computer came up. It is the same computer and same user, but I'm assuming something happened when I reformatted. Is there anyway I can fix this and make it recognize that it is the same computer without deleting my current music library?

hmm I am unsure - it sounds like that is the same thing a Palm does when you reformat or hook it up to a new computer. You may want to see if there is a restore option to restore the iPod user to the PC.

Yea, it cant be done, which pisses me off because I bought about $200 in songs from itunes, and when I reformat, it uses up transfers, and plus, its a bitch to get thr music off of the ipod.

You sure there isn't a hack for that somewhere?

My friend actually told me there was some kind of illegal thing that can transfer songs from your ipod onto an itunes library, which would essentially solve my problem. I'll have to look into it, and if I find it, I'll let you guys know.

you can do that, but it is still encoded as a .aac or .m4p or what ever the hell itunes uses that will track how many computers you use your songs on. I have had 2 computers, and have used up all my transfer limits, si I just burnt everything onto CDs
