I've seen clouds like that when I was going to colorado. You have to go across the flatest country evar.

There were alot of thunderstorms that day and you could see them off in the distance. Not just flashes of light, but you could see the einter cloud from bottom to top.

One came over the highway and because the sun was low, and there's nothing to obstuct the light, it illuminated the bottom of the cloud, and it looked very similar to those pictures.

Billow clouds :evil: Those things are nasty to fly in. If you ever want to flip upside down 500 times before crashing into the earth thats how you do it. Ive taken a few advanced meterology classes, and Im on my last. We learned about those things a couple months ago, they are NOT fun.

Cool, I see those types of clouds arround in the summer, they are really weird to look at.

I've seen something similar out on the ocean once - not quite as pernounced though.

Those lightning storms were incredible. We don't get many of them around NYC. Usually when we have a lightning storm, you can't actually see the strike, it basically just stays withing the clouds.
