There are cases of adolescents who smoke pot that develop schizophrenia, but those are only in pre-pubescent kids (10-14 yr olds) who habitually smoke marijuana.

The only risk marijuana poses is a risk to those with mental health issues, and the risk of smoking itself. THC, the active chemical compound in marijuana, or, what gets you high, poses no health risk. There is also no risk of physical dependency, like there is with cigarettes.

I've smoked marijuana habitually for over a year, and when I stop for whatever reason (clean piss for a job, vacation, whatever) I never have problems with cravings. Hell, I have more of a craving for caffeine during the day, then I do for a joint. It's not even on the same scale. :lol:

Maybe that would be true if you we're rolling a blunt with tobacco leaf, but a "joint" is marijuana wrapped in a cigarette paper. Which, is basically wax paper with a gummed edge. No nicotine content.


Look guys, you can't O.D. on marijuana, it's impossible. It's a safe substance, and it's medicinal values are grossly underrated. It is a Schedule I drug, federally, which makes it illegal to posess or cultivate. That is bullshit. The drug has such medicinal value, I know firsthand. It was the ONLY thing that would stimulate my brothers appetite, and not only get him to eat food, but keep it down during his chemotherapy. He was on a high dose of Phenergan, an anti-hystamine he was prescribed for nausea. He took it after each Chemo dose, and it didn't help at all. He lost an ungodly amount of weight, until his doctor finally prescribed him Marinol, a perscription for synthetically engineered THC in capsule form.

He took Marinol, but it's effects we're still far from that of the actual drug. So, I finally got my brother to get past his "omg illegal drugs" phase, and I got him stoned 2 days after a particularly intense chemo session. The rest is history.

I know, blah blah, cancer, whatever. But seeing what MJ has done first-hand for my brother, will never change my opinion of it.

Typically the asshole who is ranting about "omg drugs u r so cool" is the same asshole that binge drinks to the point that they are hospitalized for alcohol poisoning. :lol:

Truth. I used to be the same way. I hated drugs, I couldn't understand them, I had the same mentality. But then, I grew, matured, and understood why people experiment with drugs. :)

I think it should be legal, because it's not really any worse for you than a cigarette or alcohol. But similar to alcohol, it needs restrictions, with regards to driving and such.

Drugs are bad none the less. Underage kids shouldn't do em just because they don't realize (usually) what it will do to them. Until they are mature enough they should move on at their own risk. I've done my share too, so don't start thinking i'm a narc or something.

For kids that never done them, my best advice, just wait it out.

My friend wanted a tattoo when she was 15, parents said they won't let her till she is 25. By then, she didn't want a tattoo anymore. Yes i know she could've gotten one when she was 18, but my point is that later on in life you'll end up not wanting what you most disired long ago If you do get addicted to smoking, doing dope, whatever, later on when you're CO at your big company you'll wish you dind't always have to go to the bathroom at lunch to get "up".
