I know what your talking about there. I'm fairly popular in my school, or maybe I just know alot of people. I have alot of friends because generally I don't stereotype... unless there ugly girls.

But I've seen my fair share of fights (between girls its not so bad..) over the cool/uncool thing, and I see how people make fun of others like that. Hell, I bet I've done it a few times.. But I mean come on, the guy had no chance.. He tried to ask out all my lady friends in the space of one class period.. His name forever will be pimp. Oh, and here's a tip: The people who get bullied aren't the kids who are jacked up on steroids playing for the football team. They're the more introverted, intelligent, withdrawn crowd that perfers video games. So naturally the problem isn't the ghetto culture in this society, moral decadence, or lack of parenting: the problem is one video game by one manufacturer: Grand Theft Auto, *clearly*. It's about time we as a society decided that instead of blaming the common scapegoats of guns and video games, and instead focused on the complete decay of our society as a whole.

I resent that, I use myspace, and I am not THAT stupid. Though I was against it at first, and the current woman made it a while ago, and I wanted nothing to do with it. She goofed on me, by adding loads of trannys and all sorts of good shit. I ended up contacting old friends I havent seen in years, which is the only reason I still use that shit. Old friends, new times, is one of the great things about it. Plus you get to laugh at retards you went to HS with, ugly kids with horrid profiles, comedy and weirdness all around.

To be honest, I'm sick of people being elitist haters on whatever is cool to be hating on. Everyone gets going about how Myspace sucks and suddenly if you use the site, even if you're NOT an angsty teen trying to hook up with other angsty teens over a website, you're considered stupid. Lol, want a good example. I cant remember the name of the place (shame on me), but it was that gunning down in Scotland i belive 10-15 years ago that led to the whole sale banning of guns in britain.

Now rather than go to the root of the problem and kill it off, they took the quick fix and simply killed the bit they could see. Its like the Round Up advert says, most Weed Killers only kill the weed, Round Up kills the root.

The same is true here, rather than fix the cause of the kids problems which is bullying, they go for the quick fix and aim for something thats highly visable and easy to slam. Video Games, i mean i have no problem admitting i spent every year since i started Primary School to Year 10 being bullied. I went to the teachers and they bully was simply given a slap on the wrist and it got worse. Then one day i snapped and smashed one of them on the face and then threw him thru a glass window. Then im the one who is going to be suspended and is arrested by the police and forced to pay for the new window.

How insignificant? I know a girl, probably one of my best friends ever, she was the kindest sweatest person you ever would meet in your whole god damn life. She was the best person in the whole god damn class. Little did I know that a few cheerleaders had corupted her mind. Told her she was a whore and slut, called her ugly everything in the book *sept call her fat, she was skinny as a rail*. This went on for almost 2 years untill she finally cracked. She just ate half a bottle of asprin and managed to write a note about it all. After an analysis of the notes contents a shrink came to the conclusion she was legaly insane at the time of her suicide. Insignificant my ass. They litterly drove her insane. GGSKTHXBY

Yeah, most people don't realize the amount of social pressure kids are in high school. Some are subjected to more pressure than others (if you're born ugly or stupid you're a more likely canidate) and in addition some people handle it better than others.

In high school I was probably one of the lightest kids in my class weight-wise. I got called all sorts of retarded stuff. It's not like I could help it, nothing short of HGH (Human Growth Hormone) would have gotten me to gain any weight. Yet, all the same, I was a prime target for gettin picked on. Sure it's easy to pick on the thin kid, he's not going to kick your ass.

However, I wasn't a fucking pussy about it and didn't start slitting my wrists. I learned to roll with the punches and actually ended up making a lot of friends, most of whom had originally been kids who picked on me freshman year while trying to establish themselves in the pecking order. By senior year, these same guys ALWAYS had my back whenever someone decided to fuck with me.

Some people can't do that however, and that's the problem. They take it, and build up their rage instead of learning to let that retarded high-school shit roll off your back and be cool about it. Get a couple kids like this together and it gets worse, because they amplify eachothers angst until they decide to shoot up the damn school.

Parents need to teach their kids that its fine to get furious about shit (hell, you all know how I can get when people insult my natural mother), but you need to learn to get over it eventually and move on. These kids can't do it and it's not fucking violent video games, it's a combination of bad parenting, insensitive pricks at the school being jackasses to these angsty kids, but also the stupid kids fault for getting so bent out of shape about it.

It's cruel baby. I'm sorry, but 10 years ago, I fucking whined and cried about shit that now, in retrospect, is so meaningless. You need to put shit into perspective and I couldn't even begin to do that when I was 16. We live in filthy, fucking disgustingly decadent society. Every single person in this country is better off than the majority of the human populace, and the majority of us (most of which have the luxury of arguing on the internet) are seriously so high up on the chain of privilege, we have to start our percentile out with a decimal place when measured against everyone else. So when I hear people talk about their tragic american highschool lives, I really can't empathize, and normally I do that a lot, to a fault even. Regardless, I'd apologize for sounding insensitive, but then I'd be lying.

I guess I took my life in school a little differently than most. I was raised by my parents to treat everyone as you would like them to treat you, even if they don't treat you the way you treat them you can't sink to their level of behavior. Kill them with kindness.

So I tried to be friendly with everyone I could. I'd say I was on a "friendly" basis with everyone in my school. I was never bullied; I made friends with most of the big jocks and most of the bully type people. At lunch everyone usually had their normal groups that they sat with, but me. I'd hop from table to table (usually bumming food off of people) talking to and joking around with everyone I could. I'd say most of my good friends were girls. I sat with the table with the most girls most. I was never and still aren't a good looking guy. So I didn't look like I "belonged" at the cheerleading table or even talking to the cheerleaders at school. Some of my other guy friends would joke around and call me gay because I was always with the girls. I just told them that they are jealous that I'm closer to their pussy than they are.

What was sad was most of the guys had the attitude of little kids, "I like that girl so I'm going to be mean and nasty to her so she likes me." Which is really stupid, but sometimes it seemed to work which is just as sad for the girls attitude I guess. But I digress...

People were more willing to be nice to you if you're nice to them. My dad told me, "Never give anyone reason to not like you. Even if you don't like them for some reason. Kill them with kindness."

When I'd see someone bullying or just not being nice to each other, since I most likely knew both of them and was friendly with them I'd start talking to them on a completely different subject, or I'd say something or do something to get them both laughing if not with me maybe at me. I'd just try to lighten the mood between them. And I've tried and will continue to do that here on these forums because I consider you all my friends. If a thread is getting out of hand I usually try to lighten the mood by posting something funny or by derailing the thread just so we can at least some peace here.

There were times that being the "nice guy" sucked though, people would try to take advantage of your kindness but you just have to put your foot down sometimes and say no, or if you end up doing hold it over their head and remind them that they owe you sometime. One of my favorite examples of that was when I did something for one of the hottest girls in school, I told her we would be even if she flash me her tits for 3 seconds in the middle of gym. That is my favorite gym memory since I hated gym and all.
