It says there it may go to X360 and PS3, but I have heard elsewhere that it is a PC exclusive.

Looks like the SP-8 paintball marker, made by Smart Parts... Coincidentilly it looks like that new Military weapon, they've been working on.

You probably mean the M-8. However, I'd say its closer to the G36. :p

EDIT: Actually now that I look at it, I'm wrong, it's closer to the M8... doh.
It's still HK so whatever:

looks like a 500 dollar game. because one way or another you're gonna have to spend that much to get it to play.

Ohhh now that is a good sign. I heard a report that windows vista and DX10 will give games up to an 8x boost in graphical performance. (Note: It was a microsoft spokes person who said this so take it with a grain of salt.)

A) That's a paintball marker version of the XM-8.
B) I was replying to where you said, "That new military weapon they're working on."

On the subject of DX10 games, I just wanted to point out that EVE will be the first current game to actually reprogram its entire graphics engine to be DX10 and Windows XP capable, complete with remodeled skins, models and effects, making it once again the best-looking space combat game in existance. :D

Man that's not gonna be an easy undertaking. Interesting they are just continuing with one game and improving it over and over instead of releasing 300 other titles.

So they're going to make a whole lot of nothing look way better?
GG.
Honestly my idea of hot graphics isn't a couple of chunks of metal drifting in the black of space with rocks.

Making it look better isn't the only benefit of upgrading to DX10. I don't know specifically what's changing, but I'm sure DX10 is more efficient, and less buggy, and generally just an improvement over DX9.

Thanks for being an immature little flamer. It's not my fault you sucked at the game, nor is it CCP's.
The thing I find hilarious is that the people who diss EVE really are the ones who don't know jack shit about it. I try to make a point about the game and how its developers are rebuilding it's graphics engine for DirectX 10 and I get people flaming it. I could care less what the fuck you think about the game, personally I think it puts everything else to shame, but then again, I've only been playing it for over 2 years so what do I know. I was kinda hoping to spark some conversation concerning whether any other games are going to upgrade their engines, how much work it involves, whether it's worth it etc. Guess hoping for intelligent discussion is hoping too much.
What can I expect from a bunch of kids though.

Hey, we have our opinions and you have yours.
In my opinion, EVE isn't all that impressive graphicly. After all, it's pretty simple to make a whole lot of nothing look good.
Electrofreak

how is this (http://myeve.eve-online.com/download/videos/Default.asp?a=download&vid=144) a lot of nothing?
I think the game looks great. It looks plenty good enough for me to keep playing it for years. The problem is, new players don't usually look at what the game has to offer, they look at the graphics. EVE looks good but in a world full of games that take advantage of every new feature that DirectX 9 offers, game developers, especially in a long-term game like EVE (which could very well keep evolving for a decade from now) need to keep it looking appealing enough when standing alongside other games for people to give it a try.
THIS is what I'm trying to talk about here. So, will WoW upgrade its graphics engine in a couple years? How about other MMOs like Everquest etc, or will they just come out with a version 2 which they can box up and sell again? With all the new possibilities DX10 has to offer it's got to be tempting.

Nice looking ships... but that's about all there is in the game. The rest is... nothingness... backgrounds basicly.
Don't give me any of that "You don't play the game!" because I did... and I quit it because it was so freaking mind-numbing. Now let's drop this silly argument, it'll lead nowhere as you have your own opinion and I have mine.

I doubt many games will bother, EVE seems much different than the others CCP has a different agenda for their game and hope to keep it around for years and years to come. I personaly would be surprised to see other companies spend a ton of time messing with DX10 for existing games.
The Devs of EVE seem to be very in love with their game and I like that. I'm not an EVE player and probably never will be but I like how the Devs are very interested in the game and not just making a buck. But I'm sure they are still very interested in making money but they seem to be trying to do what***8217;s best for their business and their customers and I appreciate that.
