Bored and in dire need of a new game.

I've been in and out of games I know already... played neverwinter nights for the past few weeks...

Any suggestions for a mid-range PC? (1.7ghz, geforce fx 5500, 512 ram) I'm mainly looking for a good RPG... but to be honest anything will do at this point.

I'd say EVE but I don't think you have the patience for it.

Go get Oblivion, it runs ok on mid range comps if you turn down the effects a bit.

Otherwise break out an old game like Baldurs Gate II, they're still hella fun.

Graphics may be old, but the spell effects still look pretty cool, and the storyline is fuckin' awesome. I really should get Throne of Baal some time.

The graphics and the UI bother me the most to be honest. It's too clunky... I haven't even made it out of the lab yet and I'm banging my head into the screen.

I've played NWN a bit too much and the graphics are better... the user interface is better... wich makes it so much more enjoyable.

I need to check out fileplanet and gamespot for a game I haven't played out.

Yeah I can see how if you played NWN a lot, Baldurs Gate II would seem dated and clunky. I never played it that much that it bothers me.

If you want an FPS that runs well on those specs, look at Call of Duty. I have around the same specs and play that game just fine. the multiplayer is great. If you plan on getting it, then talk to me and we can game.

I got Brothers in Arm. That game rocks. Only up to day 6 I think... already getting earned in blood.

Haha. I've loved Hospital ever since that killing spree in the afore-mentionned tourny. I was teamed up with a bunch of idiots who got killed faster then an atheist gay black man in texas and I was one of the boys who carried the SAW. I mowed down most of the other team and when I got to the very last guy it just happened to be a fucking camping sniper... he got riddled with bullets and never knew what hit him.

I just dug up my F.E.A.R CD, and thought I'd mention, anyone who is looking to play a fun single-player FPS, and hasn't played it yet, this game kicks total ass. It's got multiplayer which is fun, but was horribly unbalanced when I last played it a few months ago. Maybe they've patched it to be a bit more reasonable since then.

Regardless, it's worth getting just for the single player campaign alone.

thought i'd just put a game out there you guys might like. I just bought and downloaded the retail version of Red Orchestra. It's alot of fun and you should be able to run it. The graphics aren't demanding.

It plays like Day of defeat except it is on the eastern front and it's VERY realistic. The weapons, vehicles, movement, and sounds, it's basically a simulator. There are class limits so not every one is using smg's or mg's. Plus each team has a commander who can call artillery strikes. Not gay ones like in BF2. You have to have someone spot the area first before you can strike it. TThe game also has built in VOIP.

Im playing it and having alot of fun. It's multiplayer only pretty much. Bots on single player suck ass. You also need Steam for this game. You can purchase it on steam or buy the retail box at a store. Roughly 30 bucks. So it's not expensive.

I should also say that at first you'll be frustrated because it's challenging for new guys. But when you make your first kill with a bolt action rifle. It's sooooooooo satisfying!

Also there hasn't been a patch released for it yet seeing as it's still very new. But there is one in the works to fix the bugs and what not.
