I've heard marvelous things about the DELL screens. I cannot tell you what model exactly, but if you can atleast try to get a 8 or hell... even 4ms screen.

Yea I have a 19" Dell LCD here at work and I am pretty happy with it. No gaming on it though :p

That dell has a 16ms delay though, you could do better especially if you want it for gaming.

Indeed... since your a shooter fan I wouldn't go higher then 8ms to be honest.

I doubt the human eye can even tell the difference in milliseconds

Regardless it appears that monitor has some Banding issues. I'd like to go widescreen but there don't seem to be many great ones yet.

It's not the milisecond difference... it's the whole ghosting thing.

If the MS is too high you'll have ghosting... wich can hinder your performance.

Hamma

Well yea but ghosting now as compared to ghosting a couple years ago is quite a difference. Ghosting on most LCD's now is almost non existant unless you go with a real ghetto brand

I just got my http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824116375

and its pretty sweet. no complaints so far, well there is a little bit of backlight splash going on at the top but its nothing I can notice unless my screen is mostly black. this thing rocks for gaming.

though the dot pixel size is a little big....

Yea I wanted to go with a widescreen if at all possible but most of them seem to be junk. I think I will probably end up going with that VS.

awsome ;) once you get it you are going to have to adjust the color. this thing is set wierd from the factory.

played soem bf2 last night on this thing and it was jsut as good if not better than my old crt. :D so I am now a fully converted fan of LCD's.

Indeed. I love LCD's too. I can't wait to upgrade my computer enitrely.

I want to get myself a 19 inch or 20 inch screen with a good response time (right now I have a 17 inch with 8ms) and good color contrast. The one I have currently isn't bad (Samsung syncmaster 730n) but bigger is better! :p (or so Ivan says!)

That along with a big ass computer that I won't have to upgrade for a couple of years will make me happy. Sort of getting tired of spending 2000$ (atleast) each 3 years...

Yea right now I have a 17" LCD with a 12ms time. I have had no complaints.

Jenny is getting that one :brow:

I've only ever owned hand me down screens. Admittedly there is nothing wrong with that.

I bought a ViewSonic 19 inch LCD and I've been very pleased with its performance. Only one dead pixel up in the corner, very vivid pictures and it was extremely easy to set up. Sorry I don't have the exact model info on me.

Oh and it was about 400 bucks. Not too expensive for the quality.

It's 269.99 at NewEgg right now.

Man NewEgg kicks so much ass - I ordered mid day yesterday and the monitor is already on a UPS truck for delivery. It will be there when I get home :D

Free shipping no less.

I've got a 19inch 14ms monitor I got on the cheap last year($150 I think).

I use it for gaming all the time, I don't think I'm ever going back to CRT's as a primary monitor.

I want newegg to ship to canada, they seem so much cheapers than the stuff here. I was looking at an overhaul for a system and compared a canadian site to newegg w/conversion, and I could put an extra gig of ram in, and still end up having it cost $50 cheaper. Plus I want an LCD, I have been using the same CRT for 4 or 5 years now...
