I was wondering, the exploration merit doesn't state exactly which pre-requisites one must have to be qualified to obtain it except mentioning something about command, does that mean that one must be Command Rank 1 to be able to explore to get the merit?

To get exploration you have to explore and fine something called monoliths on each cont. There is one for each, I think, except oshur. When you find them you get the merrit. It was the first merit and was implemented to give everyone something to get. It is basically non combat related, though, it did have an event based on it, I think, involving the monolith on Ishunder. I didn't play when that happened so i didn't see it in person.

Found out about the exact locations of the Monoliths...

*SPOILER, DO NOT READ FURTHER IF YOU WANT TO REALLY LOOSE MORE TIME THAN NECESSARY TRYRING TO FIGURE OUT WHERE THEY ARE!!!*

And the Monoliths are there, as follows:

"Hossin: Just south of Ixtab tower H14"

"Amerish: this one is easy, theres only a little land at N6"

"Cery: East of the bridge right off the road at J9"

"Ish: Right by the lake at M11"

"Solsar: Right by the geowarp at N8"

"Esamir: Right at the north border of P17-P16"

"Forseral: In the mountains just southwest of Ogma at H13"

"Cyssor: L10, right by the capitol between the 2 gray spots on the map"

"Searhus: H5, SW of where the mountains and road almost meet"

Found this info through a google search, so don't blame me if you don't HART-Shuttle-drop EXACTLY on top of the Monoliths...
But the info is good, trust me on it. ;)
