TEAM FORTRESS 2. WHERE DID THIS COME FROM? Hey, they're still making it! It's got a totally exaggerated, crazy art style now. Looks a little like Spy vs. Spy or No One Lives Forever, kind of a '60s spy feel. It's going to be the included multiplayer mode in Episode 2! Class-based, etc. You know the drill. Great news for shooter fans
Update: Just got a call from Remo at the show and there are a couple more bits of info from Valve:
- Episode 2 will also include an experimental game called Portal which is a bit more puzzle oriented. Similar to the portal tech seen in Prey but of course a bit more advanced
- The Xbox360 and PS3 releases will come out on the same day as Episode2 for the PC. The 360 and PS3 versions will be HL2 + Ep1 + Ep2 but will not include TF2 or Portal

Im bothered by it... It looks too cartoony for me, i am fully expecting that the engy will be able to build traps where anvils fall onto his enemy...

I think it's refreshing to find an FPS done in such a style. It definitely makes it more noticeable.

If it's anything SIMILAR to The Original I don't care what they LOOK like.

yeah same here. As long as the gameplay is the same without the bunnyhopping, than it's all good.

That. There's no way it wouldn't be on PC. If it was strictly console, there would be riots everywhere.

I actually think the approach to the characters is very cool. You don't see it often, like that. There were some other games that took the cartoony type approach and they weren't half bad. Serious Sam was a lot of fun. And yes, if it is like the original, it will still be good, just with nicer characters.

its not all that original, not like cell shaded games, or that campy 60/70's style movies feel hasnt been done before.
but I will say its an interesting take on TF considering 50 years ago when it was supposed to come out it looked like bf2.

Of course it's not orginal, most games today arn't. But it is original for Steam and that style of a game, afaik.

The important thing isn't that the style is completely original, even though it hasn't been done too often. I think the most important aspect regarding the visual style is that they did it on such a huge release, and in a game nobody would have expected it to be in.

I think that they saw that EP1 Sales sucked, so they release TF2/Portal With EP2 to make it sell better :p Im buying EP2 Just for TF2 and Portal, and an indifferent to EP2 itself, sure Ill probably play it, but more time will be put into TF2 and Portal.
