Heard about this earlier... But nVidia & Intel > ATi & AMD.

Now they just need to force ATI to make better drivers.

I don't like ATI's drivers.

The are way to big with that silly .net stuff.

I have an ATi Video card, installed new drivers, and all my games would get video errors...

ATI<nVidia

ATI & AMD > Intel & nVidia

Thus, I approve of this merger.

Also, I've never had problems with ATI drivers. I have with nVidia. I think it's because you're all just noobs.

I had an ATI 9800 Pro 256mb die on me... replaced it with a Geforce 6800 GT. Never had problems with Nvidia... but I DO prefer AMD to Intel (Nforce boards all the way!!!). I wish AMD had partnered with Nvidia instead of ATI...

I dont know why AMD went with ATi, as nVidia makes good boards, but ATi, from what I have heard, makes rather lame boards. Plus I want a Core 2 Extreme really badly...

I personally only ever had one bad experience with nVidia drivers, however, that was way back when with my GeForce 2 Ti. Right now I consider ATi and nVidia to be about equal on the playing field. If I were shopping around for a new card, I would get whatever had a better price:performance ratio at the time, provided I could afford it. Most recently I purchased a 7900 GT, because it was on special. I've never had a problem with ATi drivers, even before they introduced the catalyst series.

As much as It's the cool thing to hate Intel.

me too...

but in all fairness make sure you're bashing the manufacturer of the card and not ati... unless it was an actual ATI card...

mine was saphirre.

Indeed you cannot blame ATI for cheap components... that would be like saying: "OMG! INTEL SUCKS! I have a celeron and it goes slower then my old cpu!"

I for one have an ATI card... no problem what-so-ever with it. Same with drivers etc.

And another rumor for the mill - Apple is considering using nVidia chips for the next Video Ipod - the one where one whole side of the unit is going to be video screen. 3d ? Games? who knows, but with the number of ipods selling - it could be a substancial gain for nVidia.

Personally I've never had any problems with ATI at all... but every nVidia card I've ever had has done something totally retarded.

I will buy whatever it is with all the different patents I've been reading about apple getting, whatever they are working on is gonna be cool.
