I would be greatly appreciative to anyone who can give me a detailed explanation on how to use the lasher effectively and how to obtain the practice in "leading" the shots or whatever

I find it very difficult to get a kill against a TR with that machine gun thing

well basically the reason lasher is so good.. is becuz its easy to use.. jus need 2 fire rapidly againsts enemies, the good thing is that if u jus miss them thell still get injured becuz it lashed them wen it passes by them..
jus use it at close range and meduim.. thts basiclly it.. :-)

1) Press Mouse Button 1, and do not let go. Aim not required, just get within a meter on any side of the target. You don't need to worry about doors and walls and shit.

2) Strafe from side-to-side. Either A-D-A-D or <- -> <- -> depending on your keyboard mapping.

Hence the reason why they are called the "Vanoobs". VS = Planetside on Recruit/Easy mode.

Don't forget to aim low. That way if you miss it will "explode" in front of them or next to them. I know it still does damage when it goes by but it think it does more damage this way.

Lasher - Very good for fighting inside towers

Chaingun - Very good for fighting inside courtyards

Jackhammer - Good for fighting in hallways

(Not to say they're not good for other things)

Actually playing as NC is easier than VS... Sure, it's easier to cause some damage with the Lasher than with the Jackhammer, but it's easier to KILL with the Jackhammer than with the Lasher - the Lasher lacks the Jackhammer's power. Overall the NC are the most powerful shooters with the largest amount of armor on their back - VS have to be good tacticians to win.

The real scale is:

NC - Easy
VS - Medium
TR - Hard

Get as close as you can behind him, if the enemy max is moving.

If the max is standing still crouch and repeatedly press fire.

Remember! In Planetside it is not good to hold the fire button for more than a few seconds.

Happy MAX busting ;).

UFOKatarn, your fellow VS.

I can't imagine how anyone can complain about the lasher being a noob-gun when the Jackhammer is a 3 hit kill guarentee on a REX. If you're sporting a Lasher and a REX and you come across a NC in Agile Armour with a Jackhammer, you're hard pressed to win that fight.

I've yet to see the Lasher kill a fresh opponent in REX in less that five shots. I've never seen the JH take more than three (four if the person using it is a complete noob).

I also dislike the Chaingun and how easy it is to use, but at least it's better balanced.

The Lasher isn't quite so easy to use as most people make it sound. Though you don't need to hit your opponent to cause damage, if you constantly miss and your opponent is using a suppresor, you'll probably die. Splash damage on the Lasher just isn't that high. Also, the projectile moves very slowly, making it very hard to hit anything that's moving or more than 10 metres away.

It is my opinion that the Jackhammer needs to be nerfed slightly. Make the aim more sensitive or the power just a tad less, I don't care.

No, no, no... the question is what Ivan would like up his backdoor access tunnel! :brow:

So, what will it be? The pumping Jackhammer, the spinning Chaingun or the bolting Lasher?

Wow. It's almost as if I've been flung back in time to two years ago.

I'm not sure if it's funny or sad that browsing through the forums after this long turns up the same gripes that have existed since beta. Although I don't know why that suprises me. I mean the "estimated time" in the launcher for the d/l seems to be as off as it always was :p

*Edit* Actually I've decided. It's kind of both. Oh well, if the latency is any better I might actually have some fun with this "reserves" thing that I'm about to try out. Hell, if it's smooth enough I might just decide to resubscribe.
