I blame their decision to ban booth babes.

Before E3, the big convention was CES. Im sure it will come back in some form.
Im actually thinking that the GDC (Game Developers Conference) in March, may become the big expo now. Or that a new venue will pop up.

GDC isn't really something that should become the major expo. It is what it is, a show for developers to show new games/engines/etc. There needs to be another show for the industry as a whole to show off stuff.

Oh yea, btw, the show isn't actually going out altogether. AFAIK, the main thing they are doing is tightening attendance restrictions so that you can't get in by knowing some guy who's a friend of someone who works for a company. You actually have to be kind of important. Also, I think they are downsizing generally.
Yea, something like that.

From what I gather, its being downsized, like Setari said, which is good sort of. It may kep the crap out.
But the hype aruond the huge E3 show is really exciting, and that will be gone with it, unless we get something else like it or TGS.

All it's gonna do really is gonna give more of a upfront reporting really...
Sucks for us common people hoping to go there and catch a glimpse of upcoming games... but meh! Guess we'll just get results of the E3 faster...
No booth babes or flashy lights will simply allow smaller companies to show their stuff without the fear of being crushed by the giants.
I'll miss the booth babes thought.

E3 was like a holiday for me....only time I would really whore Gamespot....
A more smaller convention wont say too much in the eyes of other game develpoers, they need a real audience.

Yea overall it sounds like a stupid idea to shrink it down.

Something to add to the whole situation. Sounds like it's been downsized to me...
