View Full Version : why is it so difficult to fucking subscribe??
im trying to subscribe for planetside but it keeps asking me for an account key, I just wasted 20 dollars buying "Planetside: Aftershock" assuming it would come with this "key"
It didn't come with shit, does anyone have a key that I could use so I could subscribe? I don't want a trial I'm going to pay for it but Iwant to play now
COME ON someone has to know wtf to do
The Key should be printed on the box or on the CD case somewhere. I don't know where exactly.
noo i didn't buy it from the store man, i bought it online from the sony store !!
Did you start with a trial? Did they E-mail the key to you.
I'm sorry I can't help much cause I bought Planetside 3 years ago and I don't know how they do it now.

If all else fails, you should try using the buddy key system (on this site's front page). You'll have to restart your character if you already have one, but they go just as fast anyway. You can use the buddy keys for 10 days free anyway, and I think you are allowed to subscribe using them.
If even THAT fails, you can play fodderside (free play up to BR 6) while you try to solve the problem. However, I think you'll have to uninstall PS and re-download the free version from the planetside site to create a fodderside account. You can subscribe using fodderside, but you wont be able to play the free month you got with your retail version, assuming you do find/get it.
Good luck, this is a great game, and it's worth it.
no i didn't buy the game from the store ever, i downloaded the planetside reserve thing, then i realized that i wanted to pay for it because i like it, but i never recieved any keys
so i went to the planetside store and thought if i bought the 20 dollars AFtershock thing they would give me a key, but i didn't
all i need is a valid key even if its a 10 day trial one to subscribe
but that thread is closed i dunno what to do i dont care about restarting a character as long asi can subscribe

I'd check your confirmation e-mail. The key might be in there. Else send SOE an e-mail.

[email protected]>, and i keep getting a failed to send message
this is really annoying lol..

I had the same problems what you need to do is put in your credit card information again it won't charge it. You get the 30 days free with the game but to carry out the activation you have to enter credit card details again.

i also had a very hard time subscribing. i couldn't figure out how to do it with the reserves download. i bought a copy from direct 2 drive:
http://www.direct2drive.com/79/product/Buy-PlanetSide%C2%AE:-Aftershock-Download
after i put in my credit card information and the download started, they sent me an e-mail with the activation code... did have to wait about 10 minutes for it to arrive though. also, you probably don't need to actually re-download the game from direct2drive.

i was just pointing out that 1) just because the e-mail with the key doesn't come within 10 minutes doesn't mean its not coming and 2) once you have the key it may not be necessary to wait for the download to complete if you already downloaded ps reserves.

Hey spun, I too bought the game from there and spent a good 2 hours figuring out what to do to pay. They really did a poor job of that whole system. Anyways, when you purchased the game for $20 or whatever it was, it asked you for your account info. Doing the purchase automatically set up your account, even though when you log in it asks you for some BS like account key, just get rid of it all and log into the game like you normally would when you hadn't payed. If that doesn't work, it's because I can't exactly remember what I did to get it to work. I just remember spending a nice afternoon tricking Sony & Planetside into knowing I paid my $20.

Er can't edit, anyways now I remember I had to add a new subscription to my existing account. There was no key needed at all. No key was ever emailed to me at any point or given to me. Add the subscription using a CC to your account, it will tell you when your first payment will be subtracted (30 days from setting up the subscription since the first 30 days are free). After you set that up it'll work.

Y'know I've said this before about Sony Online Entertainment and I'll say it again: EQs franchise probably has the least hassle than any other games they produce, mainly because it is the only franchise they care about the most. When MxO became part of the family it didn't have nearly as much trouble, but that was only because SOE didn't build the subscription profile for that intiially, Warner Bros Entertainment did...
SOE, wise up. EQ is not (and will never be) always be the best thing since sliced bread.
