Yeah not nearly enough time has passed for me to laugh at that. Quite the contrary actually.

Appearently two of the tallest buildings in the world disappearing with a few thousand people in them leaves quite the impression. The nerve of us clinging to it.

We really do have some gall don't we.

I just hate that it comes up every time there's a debate...

"Apparently there's alot of mad cow..."

*interupts the first speaker*
"WELL THE WTC AND 9/11!"

Yeah. Well thats because politicians and most idiots misuse things.

What you said is that we haven't gotten over it. Which is something different.

Touch, I have the tendency to do that sorry. I should elaborate more.

I really meant the whole fact that it ALWAYS comes up... I could be talking about how I fucked a girl and all of a sudden some random redneck will come up to me and say: "THINK OF THE PEOPLE WHO WERE IN 9/11!!!!!!!!"

Get my drift?

It took me a while to even get it. How many people played Starfox? 7?

Curiously, I was on top of the towers, 1 month and 1 day before 9/11, and as many tourists there, I was filming, got the day-time to night-time breathtaking views... I was filming for more than half an hour when I told myself: "Stop filming, you've already filmed enough, and when you get back to New York the next time, the Towers will still be there!".

When I returned in 2002, I was the one facing a camera, after me and my dad conceded to be interviewed by a german tv-crew about "Ground Zero" that was desperate to get a statement of anybody who would be there talking german (they must have overheard us...).

At 9/11 itself I was sitting in front of my PC as I got an SMS from a swiss friend of mine who also is a pilot saying that I should turn on the TV because the WTC was on fire. At first I thought it was pure bullshit, because that simply couldn't be happening. After a while curiosity got the best of me and I went to the living room and put on CNN, just in time to see the aircraft get the second tower... I couldn't believe myself. I stayed in front of the TV for the rest of the day, and I must say, I felt myself falling those 400 meters when the towers dropped... It's an experience I'll never forget. And although I'm half german and half portuguese, I must say, all the footage from the towers and of the towers (during that first trip I also visited the Empire State Building of course and filmed the Towers from it) are some of my most cherished filming that I've done from all my life.

It will always remind me of how unique moments can be.

Meh, mildly amusing, I was too far away from the towers when it happend, and don't know anyone who was there. No one really even mentions it down here.

I don't think any amount of time will make 2 airplanes full of people crashing into 2 towers full of people and collapsing on hundreds of rescue workers ever be funny.

How many years has it been since the Holocaust? Still not a laughing matter.

I'm a resident of New York State (not the city) so 9/11 hit really close to home, no pun intended. My friend watched the towers collapse from her classroom at a college near the towers. I watched at the same time from the TV in my first period AP History class with my teacher and the rest of my class. 5 years ago, but the memory is as clear as day.

So... sorry Jaged. No funny. Fucked up yes. Funny no.

Yea I remember it too. I got home and my dad didnt say anything all day, he was just watching the news. I didnt really know what was going on, I was only in 7th grade, but when my dad told me that his old captain was over there, I knew something bad was going on. I watched the tower collapse in my History class. Nothing will ever make that funny.
