I recently formated my HDD because of some lame windows shit. I had been using limewire before to get my songs. I just realized I don't have any music downloading software installed and I need some. I remember limewire being bundled with spyware. What P2P music software do you folks use?

Funny...

I don't have spyware problems with limewire.

Anyone care to offer an explanation. <.< >.>

I use limewire, and have had no issues with spyware either.

Torrents. Then again I don't download song per song but rather album per album or hell even the entire discography.

I know this is taboo here but I actually pay for it. try it. it always works.

Most of the time when I like a band I go out and buy their album...

I sometimes also get advanced copies from upcoming albums from friends in Montreal that are in the music business...

yea buying cd's is good. I use yahoos service and I love it, I can find 98% of the songs I want. and they get new releases fairly quickly.

I hate the iTune thing (or whatever other service). I test drive an album first and if I like it I buy it... simple as that...

Buying individual songs annoy me... just for the fact that I want to enjoy the entire album... sure their might be some songs I don't like but... meh! I rather have a hard copy of my music.

but it's all blocked here in the dorms.

However this thing called ourTunes let's us download stuff from people, when they have thier libraries shared.

As far as buying music, I don't buy anything from big labels, but the small/indy ones deserve my money.

I tried to download a 350mb torrent file from my dorm last night, I thought it wasnt going to work, and I left to go to the bathroom, I came back two minutes later and it was done.

Torrents and ***181;Torrent.

Generally speaking though, I buy my music. I haven't downloaded one illegally in a few weeks or something.
