Hi Everyone, I was wondering if some of you may have some advice. My kids got home from school on Friday and we all decided to get on and play some Planetside only to find my little girls account was banned. This was a suprise to us. We contacted Live Chat and they were like yeah its banned and closed the chat session, didnt give me anything else. I called phone support and basically got the same thing, just telling me its banned and they cant go into details. So I email support and finally someone says it was because of hacking. Well she is only 7 so I dont think thats an issue and noone else has access to our pc's.

Needless to say I overreacted cause my 7 year old daughter is in tears, saying, "I didnt cheat daddy" So I called and asked them to either fix the account or close all our accounts, 3 in total. This was something we did as a family time, playing pc games. I figure as a new customer and one who has multiple accounts, good customer service would show and the problem would be resolved. The answer I get was. "Ok we closed all your accounts, good bye." Needless to say I was suprised of that kind of customer support. Im very disappointed and angry to be honest that customer support was not more helpful. They are simply wrong in this case.

Now I began to wonder though afterwards that 2 of my accounts are full accounts, but my little girls was on the PSReserves. I wondered if her playing PSReserves on a full game install might have had something to do with it. Customer support never tried to help me find a solution they just said bye. Could it be that something triggered cause we had the full game installed? Has anyone heard of something like that? I deleted the Planetside.exe and did a full scan of the files, but nothing changed as far as I can tell. We had the full game installed on our 3 computers. The 3 of us often played our accounts on the different pc's at home. Id like to be able to resolve this issue, but I got nothing from support. I really like this game and just want this problem to go away, but I dont see how I can continue to subscribe on any of my accounts, they may say the same thing about the others and close them and then there is my money gone. I appreciate the hack/cheat protection which makes the game fun for all who play, but this is a real nuissance for someone like myself who barely has time to sit down and play the game and then having my daughter wrongly accused. Please help, what I can I do to fix this problem? The only thing support did say was, "well you can always just create another account cause this is non negotiable" Thats not much help, what if it happens again and I get to explain to my daughter who can barely make it to level 5 has to start over. There has got to be something we can look into or check or do. Sorry for the long post.

You can't be banned because you have copy of the full game installed.

It seems like you were falsely banned but, you probably can't do anything about it because SOE doesn't seem to care.

I wanted to follow up on this. Although I still dont understand what the problem was, I sent another email to SOE pleading for some kind of assistance. Although they did not give any tech support as to do something, they simply lifted the ban on my girls account. Im appreciative of those who read my thread here and gave thought as to what I might be able to do. I just hope I dont ever have to deal with that again. See you guys in Planetside.

SOE as a company does not care about planetside anymore.

Their customer service is crap. I'm sorry, but you wont get your daughter's account back. :(

Really, there never was a problem with hacking, at least not more than there was for the 3 years the game had existed. They've banned countless accounts for no reason at all. SOE is worthless, and I really feel sorry for all 4 of the games Developers, who have their hands full just maintaining the game.

It's all downhill from here. Until then, good luck, and have fun playing with your family.

Moral of the story: If Sony doesn't care about customers, then don't care about Sony. There are plenty of other electronic makers and game developers you can give your money to...

...or if you're pissed enough, you can always file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau or Consumer Affairs....

yeh, people were banned left and right for false positives on hacking, and very very rarely were they reinstated. that and the fact that dual core Procs (or more) were occasionally treated as hacking, was extremely lame

Of course the real [Read: smart] hackers don't get banned.

I got a friend (who's 39) playing PS recently and he was with the reserves and upgraded to the full account, within 2 days he got a ban, for hacking, no amount of e-mails, phone calls anything, would get an answer to WHY????

He has no computer experience except to switch it on and play games or e-mail, he would not even know where to start "hacking"

He is extremely upset about it as he hasnt done anything wrong. I have played since August 2005 and love the game, but this has made me think that if it can happen to him it can happen to anyone. The fact that he has been e-mailing and phoning and getting fobbed off basically is an insult to the people who PAY for this game. I expect more than that from a large company who makes a lot of money from us.

I think I may look for another game to play who will help if there are problems.

SOE dont deserve to get my money.

Have an AMD system? They probably banned you for speed hacking even though you were not.
