It's a used car storage lot and bodyshop. Right across the street from it (my house is at an intersection), is an auto repair shop run by my neighbor. It's kinda wierd having these 2 businesses directly across the street from my house in a residential neighborhood, but it's also damn handy.

My Pontiac Sunfire which I just traded in was originally parked directly across from my mailbox one day, and my previous car having just been totaled, I was checking the mail and saw it sitting directly across from my driveway with a good price. So I walked across the street, checked it out, went down to the dealer (that's just the storage lot and workshop), and ended up buying the car.

Also having an auto shop across the street rocks. The mechanic I can trust (he's my neighbor and he's always had our business), and when I need to pick up a car after repairs, I just walk across the street, shoot the shit, pay the man, and drive her the 50 feet to my driveway.

I've actually had one of my previous cars refuse to start, so I put her in neutral, and with the help of my brother and dad, we literally pushed the car across the street into the garage for the guy to work on. Convenient as all hell.

When I told my neighbor (the mechanic), that I was getting an AWD car with a huge engine and a ton of features, he said "Oooo! More stuff that can break! Sweet! After you get some miles on it and the warranty runs out, I'll finally be able to get those Gucci overalls!" He "had lobster for dinner" when my Sunfire's sunroof broke earlier this summer. I don't mind, I know he's giving me a fair deal, he charges me his normal labor charge but puts in parts for pretty much at-cost.

The guy is a fucking genius too... he can diagnose most problems just by listening to the engine. When my dad was taking his truck for a test drive, he swung by the auto shop, and as he pulled up, my neighbor saw the dealer plates and said "Ooo... checking out a new car? Well... that one has a broken engine mount that I can hear for starters, so tell the dealer to knock a grand off the price for misrepresentation..."

I grew up around dealers and mechanics, and I think that has something to do with why I did so well on buying the Magnum cheap. I know how they work. ;)
