Looks cool. Anyone know why he throws down a 'nade and turns on some sort of shield? What is that supposed to achieve?

Btw, the volume is really low on the video. I was afraid that someone put a screamer on the end or something because I had to turn up my speakers. There is no screamer however, its safe.

I couldn't tell you. I don't know what the purpose of a shield is.

Either way it's a fucking stupid idea. It will be horribly un-balanced and I can see it being easily exploited in multiplayer.

That would explain why he popped the shield. It doesn't explain why he threw a grenade at his feet...

Edit: I watched it again and it looks like the grenade is what created the shield. Weird.

It's not a grenade, he throws it down and it creates a shield around where it impacted, around him. That shield protects him from the GIANT MORTAR FLYING AT HIM. What is it? Why is it there? It's new, we don't know. This is also a cinematic, unlike the first teaser.

Everyone on the bungie forums claims its the new usage for the x button since reloading is now the top bumper buttons.

Anyways omg, i remember playing Halo2 when Cheif kills Regret and is running from the Covenant grav beam, he was running so damn slow. When Cheif got out of his shield thing and went to an all out sprint I nearly shat myself. And watching this from your home theater system just kind of blows it away.

It is Kelly and MC in the video as kids. The Spartans were taken at a very young age, around two, to be trained as soldiers. Kelly is the best sniper of the 300 some Spartans.

The entire Halo series is based off of Marathon, a trilogy that Bungie made in 1994. The plots are a dead match save some minor differences. Flood, Cove, Elites, Guilty Spark (known as a dormant AI instead of a glowing ball), the superweapon (Halo) - all there. Bungie made it open source awhile back. Awesome FPS if you have some time.

Incorrect. Linda was the best sniper. Kelly was the fastest. John was the Luckiest.

No way of telling wich other spartan that is, or even if it's a young Spartan. That could be him on his home planet before he entered the Spartan program.
Maybe the MC is starting to remember everything before he met Dr. Halsey, maybe he doesn't want to fight, maybe he's a hippy.
