I like this:
Some of the comments on YouTube make you weep for the future of humanity just for the spelling alone, never mind the obscenity and the naked hatred.
It's amazing how much hate is contained in those comments.

I still say Man of the Year has more of a ring to it then Person of the Year.
I don't care if it was sexist.
I'm going to have to go with Jaged on that point; it's like policeperson or fireperson or my favorite, garbageperson. Doesn't sound right.

Yeah, I saw Time's Person of the Year and was dissapointed. I'm sorry, but it just seems like a copout. Granted, I have yet to read the Time article to see their reasoning.

i want it called man of the year simply on the basis that it pisses feminists off.

I was disappointed with this. I wanted to hear someone outlandish. Thing is this isn't even original, some magazine I was reading a couple months back did a top 100 most powerful individuals in the business world and "You" (the consumers) was number 1.

Cop out? Yes. But, who would you give the Man of the Year to this year?
I enjoyed the article. One of the few items that gives me a very small sliver of hope for the future.

To be sure, there are individuals we could blame for the many painful and disturbing things that happened in 2006. The conflict in Iraq only got bloodier and more entrenched. A vicious skirmish erupted between Israel and Lebanon. A war dragged on in Sudan. A tin-pot dictator in North Korea got the bomb, and the president of Iran wants to go nuclear too. Meanwhile nobody fixed global warming, and Sony didn't make enough PlayStation3s.
I couldn't help but laugh at that.

I can't really think of a good man of the year honestly. However, I still think it's a copout.

When I heard about this, I thought it was pretty funny. Then I saw the magazine and the little reflective bit they had, and I fucking lost it.
What a pathetic, stupid, gimmick. I would have expected a lot more from Time fucking magazine.

What do you expect?
It's time Magazine, "ZOMG we might offend someone, someone might feel left out... let's name everyone, so everyone can feel good about themselves!"
Time is a joke.
BTW sup.
