I've been following this for a while now and they had no US distributor, seems as if they finally took care of that?:

They still don't appear to have a publisher, but I didn't look very deeply. Of course, if you really had to have it, you could always get the German or Czech version.

Also, Fragmatic seems to enjoy it.

I hope this game doesn't suffer the same fate as Soldner.

Being a shitty game? I don't think so.

Soldner was a piece of shit game from the start, OFP on the otherhand was awesome. So long as they pick up where OFP left off this will be ownage.

what makes this such a great mulitplayer game?

Is it gonna be very team work oriented? Do players actually work together to achieve one goal? Is there voice chat? Whats the max players for one game?

Hamma
2006-12-21, 12:13 PM
It's more of a Military Simulation than anything, I'm not sure the max amount of players. Huge outdoor areas though and lots of buildings to go in and out of.

And very team oriented, its not Quake where you can WTFPWN 30 guys, you run out in a field nad your head pops off.

Assuming you're not playing with retards of course i.e. most CS players or similar.

Hamma

Aye  Most games have a degree of a retard factor.

100+ multiplayer.

and some PR from thier site.

did you know?:

Technical:
Ballistics and even bullet deflection (ricochets) for machine guns are accuratelly simulated in the game.

Enviromental:
As time passes, weather and daytime changes influence scene lighting and shadowing as in the real world.

Enviromental:
It's possible to see a rainbow in the game, with the proper combination of rain and sun.

Combat:
AI is so sophisticated they will find cover before changing magazines.

Combat:
There are more then 40 weapons in Armed Assault.

Enviromental:
There are flies, honey-bees, and even dragonflies, mosquitoes or butterflies flying around.

Combat:
When you are tired, your aim is less stable and you run slower.

Combat:
If you attack an enemy with the sun in your eyes your vision will be greatly reduced.

Enviromental:
If a building is between you and an explosion the sound will be muffled by the obstruction.

Technical:
You can play with more then 100 people in multiplayer mode.

nviromental:
If there's an explosion nearby your vision and hearing can be affected.

Enviromental:
Church bells ring on each hour.

Enviromental:
If you see a distant explosion or shot, it takes a while until you hear it as well

Enviromental:
There are real star constellations and moon phases ingame.

Enviromental:
Walking across the island on foot from one end to the other takes 45 minutes real time.

Im very excited about this OFP for the 21st century? Although, I havent done alot of research. Does ArmA have the same indepth editor as OFP?

Hamma

Unsure - I think so though there were a bunch of FAQ's about it.

It should. It still uses the same engine.

Also Diviant, I hope to every god in the pantheon that you mean legal download.

I've bought the german version a few days ago and it's pretty nice but I have stuck to OFP for the time being because of a few bugs and it seems a bit more solid, also my pc sucks. Link to there site for info and pics of game http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard311/ikonboard.cgi?;act=SC;c=14

Armed Assault sounds like a gangster thug game.

I envision Grand Theft Auto, but instead you kick in people's doors at random, beat the hell out of the people inside, fire your gat through the roof a few times, and then run like hell.

Game ran alright on my computer, aside from the lag and connection problems.

Mediocre demo, but they could polish this turd up a bit and make it a great game.

Squeeky is right. Very promising, but only One Kit and One Map is lame.
