I resubbed to Planetside and kicked WoW to the curb.

So any outfits looking for someone with my unique talents?

Why...?

I played the game for 2 days after not playing for almost 2 years. It's total shit now, even worse than when I left. As for kicking WoW, good call.

Mainly because WoW is shit and I need a militaristic style of game right now. Planetside is the only game that I know of that fills that need. I've recently reinstalled Tribes 1 and I'm having fun there. But it doesn't give me the sense of fulfillment I'm looking for.

It's probably the Law of Diminishing Returns, but I'm going to give Planetside a try. At least til we hear about Huxley or Tabula Rasa a bit more.

I've applied for the Phoenix Company over on Emerald. So don't be surprised if you see my name under a different outfit.

I just know when I played, I was with my friend who had just started a few weeks before for the first time. First thing I saw after making a new character was an empty sanctuary. I asked him what was wrong with his internet, and he said what it's fine you're on the home base. There is literally no one playing this game anymore. There was one battle going on in the world and it was a worthless lagfest. I can't see this game providing any sort of militaristic gameplay.

But, I mean if it's what you're looking for, then definitely go for it. Just not my cup of tea anymore. :)

There are still plenty of people playing, just not as much as in it's prime.

I never came back to WoW, cancelled cold turkey well over a year ago and tried to get that part of my life back. I have to admit I was tempted for about 3 tenth of a second to come back when I heard about the new non grind honor system but then I snapped out of it and realised that means 98***37; of the game now is grinding instead of 100%

The new honor system is even worse IMO. It's still grinding but you don't have to compete with others really. If anything it made the game more carebear. Plus what really killed it for me was the cross realm BG's. PVP was more or less the last thing holding any semblance of a community together and now that there are no "elite teams" or highly recognized players on servers, the entire concept of server fame is gone.

Really the game is even more about looking at shiny gear now than ever before.

I tried to get back into PS with the reserve event. BF2142 is more more instantly gratifying for me. I miss the olden days where you have multiple base zergs and it was frantic. Guess it didnt help that I sucked either; I was BR1. Felt about as useful as tits on a nun.
