Snow and the Northeast...

I don't know about anyone else but the entirety of New York State is getting pounded with snow. Being in Plattsburgh, we barely get any snow but it has been snowing since early morning, at about 2 inches an hour.

Just last week, Oswego, NY (North of Syracuse) got pounded with 11-12 feet of snow, and now they are getting even more.

I'm sure other places are getting snow. Just wondering how much you got in your area, if you so happen to live in the northeast.

Yea ky, Im hunkerin down for a long wait for clear roads. Its almost 9 and nothing looking like a plow truck. Ive been on overtime all day at Fedex, I got home at 10:30am and got called back in at 12 to drive to *gasp* Vermont. Just got home.

I forgot to mention we've had up 30mph winds up here. The snow just hits you in your face real hard.

I was walking back from another dorm on campus and the plow came by and dumped a ton of snow on me :lol: . It was a massive wall of snow right at me. :D

We got hit fairly good here - bout 7" but the problem is we got some mixing and rain with it :mad: Sometimes I hate living closer to the ocean - nothing worse than a snow/rain mix.

Yep got snowed in with a few feet of snow, didnt help when all the plows pushed the snow into my driveway and then my shovel broke. So I took my CRV and 4WD and contiuned to pound the massive wall until my car got thru lmao. Tried sledding and this snow sucks for it and 5 cars got stuck where we sled so I had to help them all out since i was the only one not stuck lol. SCREW THIS WEATHER!!

It got really cold here today(Kansas) after we got some freezing rain and about 3 inches of snow.

Lake effect snow ftl. I'm livin here just a few miles south of Lake Ontario near Rochester, and its pretty shitty.

I woke up this morning to about 2 feet of snow in my driveway. I didn't have time to shovel, so I just put the car in reverse and floored it. God I love AWD and good ol' American muscle.

But seriously, weather sucks. Roads are pretty nasty, but I'm definitely better off than last year when I was in the Sunfire.

I'm ready for summer now.

Im pretty sure this has been THE most fucked up weather in the last like 10 years easily.Never have I remembered it being soo cold,sooo much snow and SUCH a hot summer.December were I lived was cool and nice,Novemeber was freezing, and Jan was COLD as fuck.Now Feb is snowy as fuck, wtfff is this shit,fuck this is fucked up.Its gonna be snowing and frezzing in spring I just know it will be.

:rofl: This from a place that shut down one day in April of 1991 because of about 1/2" of snow on the ground. The entire base AND Memphis shut down that day. I was laughing my E-2 collective ass off at all the southern drivers going 2mph because of the storm.

I remember only a few years ago I loved snow... Snowforts, snowball fights, etc. Now I have no idea why I ever found snow to be a good thing. In fact, it is evil. Cold, wet, miserable weather ftl.

God damn, the facility in albany normaly gets 15 loads a night. Tonight we got 22 loads. The trip back and forth was insanely bad. Up till about orange county the roads were shit.

3. The FedEx Driver was not at fault, I herd about this, that red car that is getting pushed along had slammed his breaks and went under the trailers, caught in the dolly it sliced an air break line, the breaks locked up and the trailer jacknifed.

The road was empty, save for this truck, it was odd.

Uh, no. We do a Christmas morning sort / Truck run but we do not deliver. The trucks are loaded and waiting for the 26th. 25 - 26th the trailers still run but sorts dont happen.

Actually on Friday we had a massive crash for all of about 15 minutes... though I'm pretty sure it only effected the servers that handle scheduling and service calls, probably not monitoring.

Thats why we have 7 different centers for monitoring, and the building I work in has 6 backup generators and armored telephone line conduit buried deep underground that leads directly to a telephone company switchboard.

The irony is, the Department of Defense-rated building we work in is almost all big glass windows. So much for actually protecting the staff. :lol: Maybe its bullet-proof or something, I haven't asked. I'm guessing not...

Back to the topic of snow and the Northeast though, all windows mean that we can look out at all the pretty snow burying us. So comforting.
