Relase Date Woes

Ok, let's not think I'm a n00b off the bat. I've been waitin for this game for quite a long time and I had gotten used to the late March relase date. Electronics Boutique still says the game ships on 3/19 meaning you can buy it in stores or u get it in the mail at the soonest the next day 3/20. I've also read that the latest the game will come out will be the last day of Q1, as in 3/31. But two instances in the last two days have really opened my eyes, both involving the evil incarnation known as GameStop. I was in my local GameStop yesterday when I saw the Planetside poster in the back and was pretty excited its getting some publicity until I say a date written on it saying "4/16". At that point I thought they may have confused Star Wars Galaxies with Planetside, because the date for Star Wars Galaxies is also 4/16. So I decided to check the websites for the dates. EB still had the March date but when I checked GameStop's site it said, and you can check it yourself, "Pre-Release ETA: 5/19/03". Can anyone figure out whats going on with GameStop. I understand if you mix up SWG and PS but saying the date is in May is going way out of hand.

Does anyone have more info regarding this. Has the date been pushed back or is GameStop yet again the dumbest gaming store to ever exist? :confused:

The game wont be out till late march or may and you can bank on that :D

Once again. Do not listen to the retailer dates they have no idea what they are talking about. They are just estimating.

Plus as I said in the other thread, the game will probably go gold in late march. It takes usually 2 weeks or more for it to get into stores after that.

my best guess is that its going to come out on MArch 31st at 11:59pm. i dont think theyre going to make Q1, and if they do the game will probably have few to many overlooked bugs. my guess is Q2 probably middle or late april. but who really knows anyway. so there is really no point in discussing it because its all speculation. and is pointless, so just look for info from SOE.

Hamma seemed to have a good estimate. I'd trust that the most. He also knows more than he lets us know....Damn conspiracists.

As said multiple times, the only official date is "the absolute last day of Q1", same since E3. Meaning, it is due out on March 31st. I doubt they will make it out sooner, and it will most likely take longer, but that is the official word until they change it.

if you feel the uncontrollable urge to play before the release date try to get in the open beta. Im thinking the open beta will start mid march so no worries m8.

I read in Game Informer that its coming March 4rth. They had like 2-4 pages talkin bout Sonys games that are gona be realesed this year........ net compatable.......
