Does anyone have any knowledge of a reavers survivability factor. If I were to ambush an enemy tank alone in the wilds, what would be my odds of success?

Since it;'s mainly AT it'd probably win..Esaily..since most tanks have minimal air defense about machine guns. So, I think a Reaver can take out multiple tanks if they are lone. More reasons to convoy

I'm guessing reavers are going to be pretty butch. One-on-one, I'd expect a Reaver to win against pretty much any tank.
Possible exception: Fully manned TR tank. Dual heavy chainguns. Of course that's 3 people + vehicle vs 1 person + vehicle. Add in the potential RoF of dual 100mm cannon, and that's a LOT of damage headed your way. They still have to actually HIT, but it's a sobering thought. I'm guessing 2 tanks to 1 reaver would be bad news for the reaver.
Lightening: Gonna be "Bantha Poodoo". Their weapons have a relatively limited field of fire. Get above or behind, and it's lights out. I'll wager 3-to1 odds in favor of the Lightenings wouldn't be enough.
Vangaurd:Not too shabby. Dual 20mm recoiless. I'd still think the Reaver has the advantage. 2-to-1 is iffy, 3-to-1 should favor the Vangaurd.
Mag-Rider: Hard to tell. Really depends on the AA-effectiveness of the turreted weapon.
We really have no idea just how well armored the Reaver is. I'm guessing it'll be comparable to a lightening, but that's just an estimate derived through "rectal extraction".

I prefer rectal insertion myself :brow: That seems to make sense though about the issues against tanks

At one point somebody said reavers were great Anti-Tank platforms

Yep. Much like an apache is today. Heh, Revers are mainly AT. Nice volleys of rockets to blast those tanks

I do beg to differ.
I consider the Reaver a good anti-Mosquito aircraft, too.
EXAPLE SCENARIO:
During the last parts of WW2, the Me262 was equipped with R4M rockets to be fired at bomber formations. The Reaver also has rockets.
M----> <----R
M for Mosquito, R for Reaver. It's a head on conflict. You can ram the Mosquito (I play flight sims and I know that this happens) due to your greater shields, or let loose rockets.
M----> <- <- <- <- <----R
Now if she/he is suicidal, he will go for a head-on fight.
But the majority of Vanu and Terran pilots, despite being losers, have *some* sense. The Mosquito breaks.

M <---R
Now you can get on his six easily and give him a good chaingun belt up the a...tailpipe. Unless he runs. In which case you spam 'PANSY!!!!!!11' over chat. And record the fight.

Did you just question my piloting skills? I hone them on *flight simulators* like Il-2 (click) (http://www.il2sturmovik.com), not Tribes 2, even though I do play it, too. I've got a WingMan Extreme sitting in front of me. I am a Flight Sim fan just like I am an FPS fan: extremely skilled.
Sorry, I can't resist: I am a 1337 pilot!

So, you're saying I should kill Reavers with a sword? Ok. Will do.

Well, if you turn on the MAG-Cutters secondary mode and it's magnetic (look at the name) then yes, you can hit a Reaver with it. Killing it, however...

A skilled Reaver pilot like myself should be able to take on any tank and win.

The key part there is bomber formations. The skeeter is hardly a bomber, it is a super fast scout/fighter.
M for Mosquito, R for Reaver. It's a head on conflict. You can ram the Mosquito (I play flight sims and I know that this happens) due to your greater shields, or let loose rockets.

This is assuming that everything works on a shield system where if you crash into something smaller than you it dies and you take a bit of damage. It may be like BF1942 where if 2 planes crash they BOTH go up in flames. Also if the reaver were on the skeeters tale then the skeeter could easily use its superior mobility to get behind the reaver.
I would also point out this thread (http://boards.station.sony.com/ubb/planetside/Forum2/HTML/002855.html) where SmokeJumper mentions:
I fly a Reaver between trees all the time when I know I'm being hunted by missiles or Mosquitoes.
Thats right, he is in a reaver being hunted by skeeters, not just fighting them. That implies that skeeters are a better air superiority fighter than the reaver.

of course the skeeter is a better AtA craft, its got the same chaingun and much more speed/manueverability. I don't care how much shields you got, in AtA combat speed is life

Jaged, how can you be skilled using a vehicle in a game that hasn't even been released?
I for one think Reavers will have more problems taking down a fully manned prowler since the man operating the dual 12mm chainguns can dedicate himself to AA. A reaver will most likely not be exactly heavily armored.... Shouldn't take to long to get one out of the sky...
But in most situations i think the reaver will beat a tank one on one, esp if the reaver gets a jump on the tank.

All we know is it's faster and not seen on radar. We don't know about the chaingun but it looks like the Reaver's is bigger. Also, it has rockets and more armor.
