So, how many applications do you think they need to process?

Dont forget this was advertised all over the net, on a ton of major gaming news sites...

5000 is very conservative :p

Actually, over 5x what afex said. :D

And then you have to weed out those who fucked up the app.

And then you get Fodder's estimate.

Well, i heard 2nd hand from Crazymike that there were 13,000+ applications. I *think* he got that info from the devs, but dont quote me on it. A bunch of us on irc were discussing how there were about 5000 votes on the official site, and over 13,000 beta applications.

again, dont quote me :p

No, there were almost 30k applications, but only 13k filled them out correctly.

GG reading comprehension

What do you mean by "correctly"? Does that mean a good application or just that they filled it out the right way?

well, don't forget that the general public is one big moron. I bet you that they automatically throw out people who put "i don't know" for part of their system specs. Like, if you don't know what your processor is, how are you going to be a good beta tester, and be able to accurately say what is happening? They don't want someone like my mom who'll say "it's broke. it won't turn on. oh, i have to plug it in???"

then people who's email's didn't work, etc. I dunno. There's 100 things you could have done wrong. I bet you they even wrote some little prog to scan the dxdiag and compare it with the system specs you submitted. Who knows?

Oh crap I put "I don't know" for my sound card since I was too lazy to look...

I might be wrong, that was just a guess. Seems logical, though.

Who knows? That's exactly what I was thinking, and if that's the case then I can't get in to beta unless it's a very smart program. There was no Radeon 9700Pro option in the system specs section, so my Dxdiag won't match up. That's really depresssing
