I didn't see this anywhere on the site but I was wondering if Planetside is going to have in game voice support? Games like EQ are fine with typing while playing but a game like this would become very restrictive with typing as the only communication method.

No in game support. It won't conflict with outside progs though, so you can run teamspeak at the same time if you want.

Isn't team speak very limited on the people you can talk to...only people in the same team speak thingy? im thinking they should do like CS and make it to where everyone on your team can hear you speak... except make an adjustment.. to where only people close by can hear you... or some yada like that... I dunno... this could also be a bad idea

You have to be connected to the teamspeak server in order to hear/talk
It would not be very practical to be able to talk to a thousand or so people at once.

Being able to talk to your whole faction wouldn't be good, because I am sure if you could do this then a whole bunch of people would find it funny to make annoying noises into their microphones (like they do in counterstrike)

that might be pretty cool though, a whole faction listening to a few 5-star commanders before a massavie raid *get shivers*. maybe there could be a way for that to happen if you could mute all the non-leaders
or maybe just a couple outfits that are large doing something like this, kinda like a big war speech before the battle. and then you _should_ have enough dicipline from your troops so they won't act stupid on the mic. with a couple houndred listening in.

I am against game voice programs. By that, I mean the ones included with the game, like in Tribes 2. No one uses it anymore, because it sounds like crap and adds lag.
You are better off using Teamspeak 2 (got that? *2*, not *1*. 2 owns!!!)
