The electoral collage is an out-dated system in my opinion(and I'm pro-Bush, for now). It was in place to have educated people elect the president, but most of the time these people cannot vote the way they would like to because of laws passed in the states a long time ago.

However, if we did go by popular vote, more people would be likely to have voted for who they wanted. As it is, if you know your state is going to vote one way, you're less likely to vote because it wont make a difference. Because of this, you cannot say that had the election been via popular vote(and people had known it) Al Gore would have won.

The election was perfectly legal, and the democrats were just trying to get past that razor-thin line between the 2 candidates victory. However, they did apparently succeed in makeing Bushes legitament election apear to be a conspiracy.

Well A) excuse me for not agreeing with your system and thinking the popular vote is what should win. Saying people don't vote because they KNOW their candidate is going to win or lose is just dumb. Voting is a privledge that our countries always show great pride in, and I agree that we should. I think the popular vote, the person the majority of the people voted for, should be elected leader.
