PlanetSide Beta download announced!
From PlanetSide producer Dave Georgeson:

"Folks,

Just a short note, because it's been a long week.

We just sent out the Exclusive Beta download emails. There's a whole group of players downloading the game for the very first time right now...people just like you. We (the dev team) are extremely excited to finally be debuting the game, albeit in a limited fashion for the moment.

Saturday is our first test with "real people" (folks outside of SOE). After that test is completed, we'll start authorizing even more beta testers to enter the fray and continue to do so each week until we launch the Open Beta later on...with something like 20,000 players!

There's lots to talk about, but first we sleep. More soon.

My 56k cries in pain thinking about downloading such a large thing as fast as possible... :lol:

I sure hope they let in some 56kers so they can have feedback on the netcode. :) Very exciting time nonetheless!!!

20,000. I think it's safe to say we'll all make it in open beta.:) So even if somethign happens to the march 31 deadline, we'll be playing it anyway.:)
