I just formatted my HD to fix the Videocard problem (see below post) and when it was all done like 35 maybe 40mins later my old games and files and stuff hadnt gotten delted. They along with all the Nvidea and Radeon crap was all still on my hardrive. What do i do when a format to COMPLETELY clear my hardrive?

Boot to dos:
format c: (assuming c is your main drive letter)
If you're using winxp it can format right from the install...

You still need to format the c: drive. The existing drive partition needs to be deleted. After you do that you can begin installing windows. It will prompt you to create a new drive partition. Just go through the steps and then it will begin installing the OS.

What OS are you using? There's no need to manually format with XP.

No,but if you want to be 100% sure everything is gone in XP it's best to do a boot into DOS, run fdisk, remove the partition, boot from the XP CD and let the install reconstruct your entire HD.
Annyways, please list your OS =)
