What do you use? Optical or ball? Preferred mfg? If ball, do you have a favorite mousepad? If optical, what texture do you dig?

Me? I'm an optical fan but I haven't found a mfg I really like. Preferred surface? Any sales receipt with small red print.

edit: oh.. so sleepy.. proofreading is your friend..

Optical Logitech.

I just use my desktop as a mousepad... so woodgrain texture.

Optical all the way, much more accurate, and no cleaning the ball all the time! I use a "gel-eez" pad, had a black cloth pad for the mouse and a real nice cloth covered gel pack for your wrist =)
Not too fancy, but it feels nice, and it works =)

Yeah, that sounds like my mouse pad. Really nice. I've got an IBM MO27FO. It rocks.

I have a trackball and a wireless optical...I'm paranoid about the batteries, so I pretty much use the trackball all the time. Cleaning is never a problem for me because I don't let it get dirty in the first place.

I use a Logitech Dual Optical, but it's ergonomically designed to fit a right-handed person, and it definitely is not a good fit for lefties, and an Everglide Giganta as a mousepad since I couldn't find a Ratzpadz. :(

I'm not really sure if you can customise a logo... i looked around at the sellers some and none seemed to have anny padz whit anny special logos.

Do not get a wireless mouse!!!!!!!

They eat battteries like there is no tommorow. It really sucks when you are playing a twitch game and all of a sudden your mouse starts hopping around the screen cause your mouse is low on batteries. It is even worse if you don't have extra batteries lying around.

Not a problem whit the MX 700... comes whit a charging station thats also the reciver :D

Just leave it there when your PC is off or when you sleep... no battery problem at all =)

I also add a little talcum powder to the mousepad.... mmm extreme precision! :D

Yea I have the same as Sol, the mx 500 and the fUnc pad. I really like em, EXTREME precision =). I like corded better than cordless 1) because the cordless adds weight to the mouse and 2) you have to worry about batteries. The cord doesn't bother me at all, especially with the cord clip on my fUnc pad, so the mx500 is better than the mx700 (the wireless one) for me. Also I haven't tried talcom (baby) powder yet =\.

Derv is a pansy, no one knows the meaning of extreme precision until they're as addicted to talcum powder as they are to crack. :O_O:
