So I"ve had a wireless router for awhle now and I can't figure out why it wont work now. I mean it barely works at all, the internet will barely run though it just on a hardline so i'm stuck with using another one of our routers. Does anyone know how to fix or why they might be happening.
I think it started happening after i installed a new driver, but i'm not sure....

Your going to have to do the prelimary setup on any wireless router. Set its name, signal, security, etc. options. Check the Documentation on the router for how to get to it (If you have a Linksys put 192.168.1.1 in your browser: Username is Admin and leave password field blank).
Edit: Can you connect to the router from any other computer wirelessly?
As far as wired connections go, any router should be taking care of those fine. I would use MySpeedPC or Speakeasy's speed/latency tests. Be aware of any other computers or programs taking traffic bandwidth from the network.

I have a linksys but even then wired the internet will barely pass through, or the computer wont recognize the router. I do have another Netgear Router, and if I connect my DSL to that router and then the Linksys, I will get connection, but not DSL to the Linksys. Do you understand.
I'll probably continue to screw around with those settings.
My mom has a laptop and I have the wireless connector for my xbox360 and neither of them can detect anything wireless from the router.
Could it be a problem with the router itself?
