I was pretty sure I wanted to get it after that awesome demo. Then gamespot gave it a 9.0. I went out to pick up a copy later that day. The release was buggy and wouldn't let most people go online. Fortunately they fixed those problems in patch 1.2. (patch 1.2... 3 days after release... This could only be EA.)

But despite EAs suckage and the now mostly gone bugs, this game fucking rules.

Im on the 3rd level in the GDI campaign. This game does rule, but ive been too busy with Shivering Isles.

What is up with all of these games coming out week after week? Shelled out for STALKER last week also.

Good thing, LimpBIT, because it doesn't cost 50 bucks anymore.

STALKER is AMAZING assuming it runs on your computer. The only bad thing I can say about it is that it's too short. I want more!

Not to continually derail the thread, but the game doesnt as look good as hardware requirements dictate, plus the patch will BREAK your saved games.

Meh. Bought it. I was a bit excited..in a rush, actually, and didn't see that the case was open until I got home. No CD. Went back, they had taken it out and left it after playing it I guess, so I got to return it and got another copy. Luckily, I kept the manual. Got two CD keys now if anybody "loses" theirs :)

I think the campaign was seriously lacking in length.

I'm on what I think is the last mission right now. I think it seems to be long enough, though I thought the plot was kinda lacking, then again I am still only playing the GDI side right now.

Nod campaign is a bit cheesy. Overall, I think all the campaigns are too short and just not very deep for C&C.

The patch can break your saves. I have saves from before the first patch that work just dandy. I'd also say it looks fine with everything cranked. You do need a pretty kick ass box in order to run it well on full settings though. I'd also submit if you're playing an RTS for it's graphics you might want to examine your genre choice ;)

Guys, it's C&C. Cheesey cutscenes and a plot that isn't much deeper than "Nod are the creepy bad guys and GDI is the futuristic U.N." is pretty much what the games have been about from the get go.

The game doesn't try to do anything revolutionary to the series or the genre as a whole, which is pretty much what everyone wanted. They tried that last time and we got the abortion known as C&C Generals. The entire game is pretty much just fan service for old school C&C players which is pretty shocking after what Generals turned out to be.

If you get around to finishing all three campaigns you'll notice something nice about the plots that all the other C&Cs lacked.

One thing that really suprised me is that this is the first RTS in ages that has really impressed me as far as quick play multiplayer games goes. It's the most fun I've had since the old Starcraft days (although I think Starcraft is still better as far as technical execution and balance goes but then, well, yeah it's Starcraft).

The problem is, Tiberian sun actually had quite a bit of a plot, so it seems like they are going backwards by having such a shallow plot. Plus so many of the actors were pretty great, and It kinda spoiled it that the acting was so bad. I think the issue is that the cutscenes were NOT directed by Joe Kucan (the guy who directed the cutscenes in Tiberian Sun, Red Alert, orginal C&C, Red alert 2 and Emperor: battle for dune, and also played Kane).
