So, next year me and a bunch of friends are getting an apartment for school. And seeing as we are stoners that hate parties, we're going to invest in a nice TV. (We're all tech-head engineers as well)
Anyway, we need a television.
Preferably with HDMI support... in the 30-36 inches area.
Any reccomendations?

Good! I work in this!
If it's for next year it's hard to say since new models keep coming out. If you want it to support 1080p I'd look into sharp if I were you, they're cheaper then alot of the models around the market, they build their TV's from A to Z so no companies other then them touch the TV's. Plus they were one of the four companies to invent the LCD technology.
I'm guessing your going to want an LCD (what with video games and all) so again sharp is great.
LG is coming out with a new line pretty soon maybe you already have them around. 1080p LCD tv's. I haven't got the specs yet. But they do damn good products.
Lastly you could get a Sony but be prepared to pay alot more for pretty much the same thing that the others offer.
I don't really recommend samsung or hitachi often unless the client insists on it. Toshiba... they're in the "MEH" category, they have good products but for some reason they just don't appeal to me as a salesman.
Look into projection TV's too... you could get a bigger TV for your money and the only drawback would be that in the angles there's a reduced visibility level. (It gets a bit darker)
I won't bother naming any models just the companies since the models change so often and I'm not sure when the purchase will be made.

Tube TVs are still the best bang for the buck, atleast while we were shoping for one last year.
I think we got a panasonic 36inch widescreen tube, it's pimp, but wieghs half a ton.

Samsung is producing backlit LCD monitors in the 22" range. Supposed to have 1000:1 contrast ratio and support High Def natively. That's probably something you want to look at in the next couple of months to see where they're TVs are going.

Can't go wrong.
Check out their 37 inch one. Not much of a price difference. (Atleast where I am)

Wow, you've never shopped for or have owned electronics have you?
Buy a 600$ TV with a built in dvd player and I assure you you'll regret it because in the end you'll need to shell out the money you should of spent in the first place. Also, extended warranty for the win. Make sure it covers everything except physical breaks and your set.

Yea when I bought the TV it was the only thing I ever bought an extended warranty on. When you buy a TV for so much you might as well. :p

I'm going to be using it for my 360, and for one of my housemate's PS3s... I'm thinking the 32 inch is perfect, mostly for size reasons... It'll be able to fit in my room at home.
The 32 inch aquos is $699 on newegg... if anybody knows a cheaper (But reliable) place, please tell.
