We all know how much he sucks already, but further mocking is always in order.
Here is a video of him blaming the Virginia Tech shootings on video games. Keep in mind, this was only hours after the event. At this time no one knew who the shooter was or anything about his motives or background. Of course, despite this, Mr. Thompson couldn't pass up the chance to use the tragedy to shovel his agenda down our throats.

Edit: I changed the link to a different site that not only shows the video but also points out the lies that Thompson tells.

I don't think anyone expects anything less. I know that as soon as I heard about the shooting I was already calling that old jacko would be on the news at some point blaming video games.
It's pretty much a given that If someone goes crazy and they are around 10-30 years old he's gonna pop up and blame games.

Did you catch his title? "Expert in school shootings". I mean of all the things he could have chosen, sports, fashion, astrophysics, ladies beach volleyball, he chose school shootings.

The only way I would consider him an expert in that was if he took some bullets.

Dear Mr. Gates:
On Monday, April 16, at 3:10 pm, I was a guest, as I often have been in the past, on the Fox News Channel. News anchor Bill Hemmer asked me to profile the Virginia Tech rampage killer. I did so, noting that until that day the worst school massacre in world history was at the hands of Robert Steinhaeuser, who literally trained on the Microsoft on-line, hyper-violent shooter game, Counterstrike. I mentioned your company***8217;s game by name. I explained that the rehearsal for such a massacre is key to being able to pull it off, as efficiently as Cho, whose name we didn***8217;t even know at the time. Cho and Steinhaeuser were able to do what they did the first time because it was not the first time. This is why the military uses this same virtual reality simulation to train soldiers to want to kill and how to kill calmly, as the witnesses of Cho said he did.
Sure enough, last night I was doing a west coast radio interview when the host said to me, "Mr. Thompson, you are right. The Washington Post is reporting right now the following:
***8216;Several Korean youths who knew Cho Seung Hui from his high school days said he was a fan of violent video games, particularly Counterstrike, a hugely popular online game published by Microsoft, in which players join terrorism or counterterrorism groups and try to shoot each other using all types of guns.***8217;"
I thus went back on the Fox News Channel, and Bill Hemmer and I explained not only that I was right about your game figuring in the Virginia Tech massacre but also that the Washington Post excised the above excerpt from the story this morning. That is yet another story. The bad news for the Post however is that you can still get the excised excerpt at http://www.washingtonpost.com/...AR2007041...ml?hpid=topnews. Thus, the cat is out of the bag, and his paw prints are still on the bag. Is this a great Internet, or what?
As you know, I similalry [sic] went on NBC***8217;s Today Show with the DC Beltway Sniper still unidentified and at-large a few years ago and told Matt Lauer and the nation that the triggerman would most likely be a teen video gamer trained on a sniper video game. The tarot card was a clue, but there were other clues. I was right, as Malvo trained on your Microsoft game, Halo. NBC reported that three months later, and it was part of the criminal trial of Malvo.
Mr. Gates, your company is potentially legally liable the harm done at Virginia Tech. Your game, a killing simulator, according to the news that used to be in the Post, trained him to enjoy killing and how to kill. You knew five years ago that your on-line game, Counterstrike, so clearly figured in the massacre by a student in Erfurt that the event and the game impacted the race for Chancellor in Germany at the time!
Yet, here you are, five years after "Erfurt," still marketing Counterstrike. having done nothing to disable the server(s) for this mass murder simulator, and it looks like "Virginia Tech" is a consequence. There***8217;s more going on in the world than Vista. Just ask the bereaved Virginia Tech families.
Mr. Gates, pull the plug on Counterstrike today, or do we need more dead to convince you? "Virginia Tech" was the 9-11 of school shootings, and it appears Microsoft is in the middle of it, in more ways than one.
Regards, Jack Thompson
as sent to bill gates from yours truely

Who'd have though I'd be cheering for them anytime soon?
This come on the day that a court has told Thompson that he can no longer sue Take2 or try to remove their games form the market.

And, here's something I'm sure no one here has missed....
When did Microsoft own the rights to Steam/Valve?
Unless I'm out of the loop, I don't think Bill Gates has anything to do with CS. I honestly hope that Microsoft sues Thompson for libel/slander. I will defend the right to free speech, but that doesn't mean that freedom of speech equals the truth of the speakers word.
I should have called up Today and said, "Yeah, I'm an avid Counterstrike player, having racked up 2 million kills since it came out...blahblahblah...and I'm an expert at the game...blahblahblah...and I'm not about to go on a rampage and shoot everyone I see. You want an expert gamer? Here's one."
I wonder what the response to that would be? And would I meet Mr. Jack Thompson. And what shirt would be appropriate for said meeting?
Perhaps one of these? (http://www.offlinetshirts.com/cgi-bin/ol/gaming/other.cgi/playerkiller)

But a short time later, the newspaper removed that paragraph from the story without explanation. Meanwhile, authorities released a search warrant listing the items found in Cho's dorm room. Not a single video game, console or gaming gadget was on the list, though a computer was confiscated. And in an interview with Chris Matthews of "Hardball," Cho's university suite-mate said he had never seen Cho play video games.

Peace, this is what you get with capitalism.
Everything is about profits, it's up to the people to decide what's profitable, however. So What is on the television reflects what we want to see because what we want to see is what we watch.
Yeah, you could watch Public broadcasting, but that still does take a left wing slant, because the kind of people that are drawn to listen and work NPR and PBC are the more liberal types that value the betterment for all sort of mentality.

Non profit news agency for the win. Theres a new news channel around my house right now, news channel 9. Its like fox, but I dont detect as much bias. It seems more straight to the point. Though they are guilty of reporting the same thing 40 times an hour. (example VA)
