Wow, one of my friends told me to DL it the other day so I did. I thought "what the heck, it's good to kill an hour"...man, was I surprised. It's like CS on steroids and set in a more relevant context! I usually hate games that try to be too realistic, but requiring the use of the weapons' sights to make accurate fire is just cool for some reason. I don't know why, but I love it.

Vietcong = Vietcrap , seriously its only smi amusing adn the character modles are crapy the game plays hurtin and the graphics are poorly optomized . overall 4 out of 10 ;)

Same here. I downloaded it just for something to do for an hour or two. That was almost a month ago. Ive been playing it ever since. Its one of the best, if not THE best FPS ive played in a very long time. Its just something about taking cover in the bush while an enemy group send round ofter round of ammunition screming over your head.

and the grenade effect kicks total ass.

BWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeee eeeeeeee......

edit: like the fool above me pointed out, its not the prettiest game on the planet, and its not instantly gratifying. But thats ok. it just means that it wont turn into a cs type lame fest. And thats no problem with me.

well, the game looks like it has a lot of atmospheric single player potential

the demo wasn't finished, represented more of a beta build than anything else

if they fix it up and refine some of the models and animations and stuff like that, it could be a very nice game. remember, it only let you play with some of the weps and classes. theres gonna be MGers, airstrikes, and medics and all that in the retail

Graphics? I don't care bout those. The models aren't bad, they at least look like they're supposed to...animations either suck or weren't finished though. It needs a vsync option too.

But that's not the point. I think it's the subtle things that make it good. Sniper scopes that actually restrict your view, grenade ear ringing effect, the weapon sight thing...

Vietcong = SoF2 in jungle, pretty darn cool

Raven Shield = CS way more realisitic, r0x0rz your b0x0rz!

I didn't like Raven Shield that much...too slow, need some run and gun action in there somewhere. That, and I kept getting capped by snipers 10 seconds after spawning.

I like it, it's fun to have a change of pace once in a while and play a realistic tactical FPS.

I played vietcong and I didn't like the huds so I put it on realistic mode, and that was a challenge, no crosshairs, no ammo counters. That was very fun tho, got bored of it quick tho not enough eye candy.

It's nice. However, they use the wrong weapons (no M1/M2s in Vietnam, and where's the M14!) and for no reason at all, the game quits for me. It just boots me to desktop.

there were M1/M2s in vietnam, early in the conflict mostly, 65-67 is when you'd most likely see them

Try the stupid simple game they made also, called Jungle War. For a browser based game its atually intertaining for a while.
