Am I a psycho?

I'm a combat medic, and I went to visit a a friend in medic school today. she wanted to practice "opening veigns" (inserting an IV needle) on me but couldn't find gloves, so I just did it to myself. It requires playing around inside the veign, and some people who watched thought I was insane.

am I losing it?

Insane is using a bulldozer to make a 20 ft tall ramp in a junk yard. Spend a week fixing a short bus to make it run. Jumping said Short Bus off 20 ft ramp with 20 people cramed into it, bringing 5 to the hospital and laughing because of the inch long shard of glass sticking into your forehead.

P.S. Short bus' do not fly....

a) "shortbus" is the only movie I couldn't stomach, ever. this comming from a guy who watched footage of a guy dying from rabies.

b)I wrote this because I have quite a few medic friends and too many times "normal" folks hear us talk about stuff and think we're nutz. at this fast food restaurant someone actually asked us to change the subject cause his daughter couldn't eat while hearing us talk.

I was just playing along with some stupid stuff Ive done. People judging you on being border line insane from stories is basicly them saying "Im a pussy, would never have the balls to do that, and am jealous that you did."

I wouldnt be suprised if some on PSU think that sticking and IV in your own arm is kinda weird. Personaly, I have a phobia of needles so the only way I can get a shot / IV is to do it my self. The body has a higher tolerance for self inflicted pain. Before I took a class on how to do it I always freaked out over needles. Now I can do it my self most of the time.

So, no I dont really think your insane. But, most people think I am so they probably think you are too :)

My ex wanted to do, and we did a lot of freaky things. Not enough in my opinion. One that we didn't do that I knew she wanted to do was stick me. She always looked at my bulging veins and talked about it. I would have let her. She was a nurse. Is that crazy? No. Am I. Yes.
