I guess that comment could go either way so I'll just say I'm a pontiac/GM man myself but I don't hate any other company.

Except the engine compartments are packed tighter than Inf's.... well you know.
My new ride is an 88 Wrangler. Needs alot of work to patch up body rust but its gonna be fun.

I'm trying to find a beater - hopefully an old BMW E30 or E36 318ti 318i or 325e - for use around school here and to learn how to work on cars.
When I drive now I drive a 99 Passat but the damned sister gets it while I'm at school, she's been using it under 4 months and broke the radio and hit something and fucked up a headlight. Guess who has to fix both issues...

Headlight is an easy fix... open the hood, take out the headlight screws (should be 3, 2 on top and one on the side with a plastic bracket) twist the bulb assembly to the left and pop the bulb out. Then pull the rest of the head light out and replace it.
whats wrong with the radio?

My guess is it only plays Gwen Stefani.

Yeah I figure It's not a hard deal to fix, I'm just kinda peeved that I have to clean up her messes.
The radio just up an quit working after it had slowly stopped responding to button pushes and the like. I just got a new head unit and popped it in.

Before you fix anything, reach an agreement with your parents and your sister. She shouldn't feel like she got away with murder riding around in YOUR car. She's not making the payments and/or insurance on it. She's only putting in gas and playing Gwen Stefani music in it.
If that's one thing my parents taught me, is to be responsible for someone's car when you're using it. After I got my license it was my responsibility to be sure that my mom's car was washed, cleaned, topped off after I had used it, and maintained adequately. This meant every 3000 miles getting the oil changed by myself.
To this day, if I borrow someone's car, I always top it off and get it washed.
No Peace, I'm not going to borrow your Wrangler.

You will want to atleast ride in it when its done. Ton of rust on it. Gotta strip it down to the frame, take it to a friends shop to get it all blasted, chop out a piece of the body and weld a new one in, grind the weld, reprime / sand / prime again / paint / sand again / paint / over coat, rino line the frame, replace the windshield (the window frame is rotted out but its cheap for a new one and I got the glass), put a 4 or 6 inch lift in it, clean the engine compartment up, then pull all the little shit eatin' door hinges, grill, and suspension parts off, blast, reprime/sand/prime again / paint / sand again / pain / over coat, put a new spare tire on, put a new stereo system in, build a sub woofer box, possibly a winch, and then a light bar. Lots of work but its gonna be a beaut when its done.
I got a set of 32" Micky Thompsons on it now, which is technicaly 34' with the treds. Ive even got the asshole headlights. You know the blue ones that blind everyone. Its an 88 so theres no emisions reqs on it. Gonna straight pipe it, then next summer im gonna drop like a 350 in it or something nuts, bolt on super charger, you know... just go nuts. Turn it into the romping "are you compensating for something?" beast that I deserve.

It's not my car.The 'rents bought it for our use. I won't have to pay for the parts. It just for some reason becomes my issue to do the actual fixing because no one else is going to do it.

I fucking love my car. My only other forum I browse now is www.lxforums.com (http://www.lxforums.com) for my Magnum.
For those of you who missed my thread last fall, it's a 2005 Dodge Magnum R/T AWD with a 5.7L Hemi V8.
There's no replacement for displacement. I've done some engine tuning and bumped the car up about 15 hp to 355 and the torque about 20 to approx 410 lb/ft. I'm trying to keep my budget low but with a CAI I can probably manage another 5-10 horses. High-flow cats and a Borla exhaust were something I wanted but will have to wait until the wallet is fatter.
The car is heavy, but with the AWD I have no real traction issues. I'll be taking my car to the drag strip later this summer so I'll post my time slips when I get 'em. If I dump the rear cargo organizer and spare tire I should probably be able to manage 13.x seconds in the 1/4 mile with no trouble.
Then I've got my summer project in the works for my touchscreen in-dash carputer. It's not going to be a cheap project, and now that I'm paying rent for an apartment and spending money on a girlfriend it's going to take some saving to pull together the funds.
Part of me just wants to say "you only live once" and just charge it all onto a credit card. But not having any debt is kinda nice...

Ahhh, sorry for thinking it was your car. If your parents bought it for both of your's use, then it's entirely up to them how to deal with it. I just hope your sis is doing some hard time for this F-up.
